Commercial Description:
La Terrible is a dark brown beer on lees and is part of a collection of exotic and refined Unibroue beers brewed using 100% natural raw materials. It may be drunk as an aperitif or as an after dinner digestive. It is equally a perfect accompaniment to the above-mentioned dishes or a pleasant alternative to coffee.

Bottle. Pours deep ruby with a beige head. The aroma is fruity, like sweet apples, anso spices and yeast. The flavor is also sweet, but more along the lines of plums. Also spices, yeast and a bit bready. The finish is a bit dry. Very good.

Every beer from this brewer is top notch. This one is no different. Beautiful dark ruby red. Nice head persists. Very complex flavor with a lot going on. Very nice after taste. Bring me more.

Shining mahogany body with a white ring around the rim of the glass. Moderate aroma of orange shells. Rich and exciting flavours of grapes, sweet berries, prunes and brown sugar ending up with a suitable bitter touch, added a little alcohol tingle. Soft carbonation. Worth repeating in larges quantum than the 100ml taster I had on EBF (Copenhagen, 14.09.2008).

Pours a deep deep red. Basically black. Aroma disappoints. Really not a very strong nose. Smells of chocolate, deep molasses. Head starts alright, quickly receds into a ring. Flavor is rich. Lots of different things going on. Mouthfeel is like wine, very present and lasting. Quick burst of warming alcohol. Great brew, needs more smell though.

Had this as part of a Unibroue tasting dinner. Poured a deep black/brown color with a thick, robust head. Roasted, fruit, and chocolate tones. Reminds me of the Chambly Noire, but with more body and a more complex palate.

Dark brown in colour with spritzy carbonation. Aromas of figs, caramel, prunes, and a bit of booze. Loads of complexity on the palate, with elements of stewed fruit, more caramel, chocolate, berries, licorice, red berries, citrus peel, and allspice. It’s medium weight body makes it surprisingly drinkable. Well done.

Pours Black with nice tan head. Aroma is not too strong but there’s some slight ripe fruit. Flavor is not as complex as I had hoped - basically just roasted malt and dark fruit. Has the trademark Unibroue high levels of alcohol and carbonation, which I like, and helps the overall effect. High drinkability and nice dry finish.

Brown to black pour with a thick creamy brown head. Yeasty dark fruit aroma. Sweet taste on a moderate body, maybe a thinner one than I had expected. Dark fruits from prunes to figs in the taste with a lot of malt. Good, but not great. Lacks finesse. A long cloying fruit and malt finish. Perhaps aging would help this.
