saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark May 29, 2008 Sample at Aarhus beerfestival. Medium head with medium duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are malt, hops and fruits. Bittersweet finish. trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA May 28, 2008 Pours a dark cola brown with a fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is strong ripe fruits (bananas and cherries), molasses and chocolate with just a hint of yeast and spices. Tastes drier and yeastier than the aroma lets on, with a bit of alcohol burn. Notes of port wine, cola (!) and chocolate accompany the fruits from the aroma. The mouthfeel is a bit harsh - this would be fantastic if it had a little less carbonation and the alcohol was a little more well-hidden. Very good overall, though, and probably the best I’ve had from Unibroue. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA May 28, 2008 Hello. Surprising dark brown / black pour but easier on the palate than expected. Kind of a punchy malt taste to it, which was different, but in a good way. Random buy that will probably happen again. I enjoyed it quite a bit for something different. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle, pours a dark brown, with a nice head, lots of dark fruit, with a bit chocolate and banana, clove, and bisquits. Alcohol is not overwhelming considering its above 10%. I enjoyed it quite a bit. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA May 23, 2008 Pour is dark golden/brown with a very thick brown head. Very carbonated. Aroma is of dark fruit, molasses, malt, and spices. Flavor is medium to full bodied with same taste as aroma. Very good brew. Would buy again. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 23, 2008 750 mL bottle, pours a deep red-brown body with light brown, very bubbly head. Aroma of dark fruits - mainly plum and raisin, along with carmel and malts. Flavor is similar to the aroma with notes of banana, spice, and bread. Slight alcohol burn to the finish. Medium to heavy body with an oily, cloying mouthfeel. jarspag (593), Los Angeles, California, USA May 21, 2008 Bottle in NO w/ Pete. Random find! Flavor is super sweet, yeasty, with some dark fruits intertwined w/in the sweetness. Robust, full bodied, but a sugar plum bomb. Not quite a mess, but this is nowhere near delicate, nor complex - and a tough one to drink. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark May 21, 2008 Bottle. Low white head. Hazy very dark body. Caramel coffee aroma with vineous notes. Mild caramel sweet vineous flavor. Long aftertaste and low carbonation.
