Pours dark brown with beige head. Nice head retention. Flavor has some banana notes with some good spice. Carbonation is medium. Good time sampling this beer. Deep mahogany hue with a large off-white head that left great lace and was mostly lasting. Aroma of vino, yeast, fruits, and must. Lively carbonation, medium bodied, and a little lingering. A good one that’s well above average. Smells of alcohol and very malty with a hint of fruit and spice. Has a smooth fruity taste to start and then a real alcohol kick. Has an oily and fizzy finish.Unibroue scores again.
Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 750 ml bottle...smoke billows from the pop cap and it seems like a never ending pour...dark brown body--pungent tan head...smells yeasty and wheaty...quite earth fulfilled and wholesome like all bran cereal--all twiggy like...mild cloves also....many layers that change so quickly its hard to extract and describe them individually (muddled)...some clove flavors and grains and yeast with an alcohol presence...maybe it needs aging...pounded it to get rid of it because a don’t want to decipher it anymore Vas19 (292), Maryland, USA May 2, 2008 Corked and caged 750.
