Pours an intense dark ruby black with a very tall foamy tan head. Strong Belgian yeast aroma of sour fruit, citrus, and bread. Very creamy body. Taste is very bready with a lot of yeast flavor that brings out some of the same soured fruit that you can smell. The finish is a little dry and leaves a light tartness on the tongue.

The pour is a pleasant deep blood reddish to almost black with an ample and quickly dispersing tan head. The nose is a bit twangy with hints of sour cherry, dried apple, malt, yeast and a hint of nutmeg. The flavor is complex like the nose adding caramel, hazelnut, cola, dried dark fruits and astringent alcohol into the mix. Very Pleasant.

Poured a ruby/black with a fat two-tone beige/brown head that deminished to a very tiny cap. The nose was nice and complex with black cherry, ripe peach and a malty spiciness. The taste started with black licorice, plums, raisins and toffee surrounding a huge malty caramel flavor. The finish was slightly bitter in the back of the throut. A nice warming ale with a very complex flavor profile. Very nice.

one of the most amazing heads i’ve ever seen. simply would not go away. also nice lacing, beautiful almost black coloration. aroma is also excellent- dark fruit, some chocolate, and sweet alcohol. flavor of brown sugar, molasses, massive plum, raisin, fermented grapes. 10.5% ABV is definitely in the taste and mouthfeel, but the sharpness on the tongue is welcomed. absolutely incredible, again one of my favorites ever.

Pours extremely dark brown with huge head. I had to wait before pouring the whole thing. Typical unibroue yeast aroma with chocolate, plum, and citrus evident. Flavor was molasses, and caramel, wrought with residual sugar. Prickly mouthfeel, but unbelievable smoothness and full body. This is just so great.
