lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Feb 14, 2008 Pours dark chocolate brown with white head. Aroma of plum, port, licorice, spice, and belgian yeast. Flavor contains some nice malt complexity- some chocolate, licorice, dark fruit, dried cherries- and some nice spiciness and yeast. Palate is, like all Unibroues I’ve tried, fizzy as hell. Another good one from a pretty reliable brewery. EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Feb 13, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours like a glass of coke. Dark brown color with a thin white head. Thick malty aroma. Fruity with cherry tones. Little bit sour on the tongue. Sweet and fruity with a bitter finish. Chocolatey and spicy. Very good. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Feb 13, 2008 Updated: May 17, 2008Found this at a random liquor store i usually don’t go into. Hell of a find, i wanted to try this for a while. Pour is near opal black with a tan head that dissipates. Yeast, spice, & hints of licorice in the nose. Mouth is the notoriously well balanced Unibroue spritzer fizz. More bitter and spicy than most Belgian ales, yet the familiar yeast/clove are reminders that its incredibly drinkable. It is warming but not alcoholic tasting. Beautiful. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Feb 12, 2008 Dark brown to black in color. I like the bottle. Nice tan colored head. Fruit and some different spices in the aroma. I could not quite pick them all out. Flavor is very rich and full with some strong alcohol presence that seems to enchance the flavors. Again it has fruit and spices in the flavors. Very good beer. Sincere (145), wichita, Kansas, USA Feb 10, 2008 Pours very dark with a tan head and micro bubbles. Great lacing, medium carbonation. The smell is of yeast and that typical apple you get with this brewery. The taste is very malty with a slight bitterness that’s quickly covered up by the sweet honey and floral finish. Great mouthfeel, like silk. dmtroyer (407), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 9, 2008 750ml. Very dark brown pour that tends to black. Graceful light brown head. Aroma is mostly fruit, some sweet malt and the slightest touch of chocolate. Body is similar with a fair yeast presence, sour malt and an awesome nuttiness on the finish. I’m a bit torn about the mouthfeel, it is fairly rich and viscous... soft with little to no carbonation, can come across as a bit flabby. Still an excellent brew from north of the border. BeerFan1083 (1), Buffalo, New York, USA does not count Feb 8, 2008 What a beer. I have had several of Unibroues beers, but this one stands out. Lovely color and head, full aroma... But then the first sip stands out, with cinnamon, cherry? A nice sweetness stands out, with wonderful spices. the alcohol is evident, but it doesn’t deter. This is one beer, that all beer lovers should have. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Feb 6, 2008 Spicy clove/cinnamon and fruity nose. Reddish "cola" color. Complex mix of flavors, might be a little boozy and hair thin, but an excellent unique beer. Unibroue seems to consistently produce some great beers.
