Commercial Description:
La Terrible is a dark brown beer on lees and is part of a collection of exotic and refined Unibroue beers brewed using 100% natural raw materials. It may be drunk as an aperitif or as an after dinner digestive. It is equally a perfect accompaniment to the above-mentioned dishes or a pleasant alternative to coffee.

Spicy clove/cinnamon and fruity nose. Reddish "cola" color. Complex mix of flavors, might be a little boozy and hair thin, but an excellent unique beer. Unibroue seems to consistently produce some great beers.

Aroma initially was rich sweet molasses and dried fruit with a slight hint of yeast. Dark brown pour with hints of ruby and a tan head. Flavor of dates with just the slightest hint of abv. A flavor that is semi sweet. Just a complex overall flavor. Mouthfeel and carbonation are very good. One of my favorite by this brewer. No over powering yeastiness to me just solid all round. If I’ve rated one of their beers higher I will do a side by side and re-rate.

A bottle of La Terrible aged since 2004. Incredibly smooth. Amber Color. Hoppy and spicy but with the drinkablility of an easy bock. Anise, ginger, clove, vanilla, grainy, but still big. Grainy flavors that balance the initial sweetness. Sample with several friends, overall description is SMOOTH, with nice alcoholic finish. 4 years of anticipation were not disappointed. Subtle but not to be missed. Put it away as long as you can stand. It keeps getting better and better.

Appearance: dark brown color. Big head with beige color, lasting and some rocky. Aroma: “sweet spicy smells” with tones of toast-malts, aniseed and ginger. Too others grain’s smells, the vanilla, nutmeg and clove. Some aromatic reminiscence of stew-plums. Flavor: toasty malty start, too the corn and wheat. Progress of the “sweet-spicy” present in the ingredients like aniseed, paprika and ginger; too other tones reminiscent of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Candy dried fruits touches, figs, raisins, elderberries (similar to touch of the Ebulum beer) and (maybe) plums. Warming final that to make up the sweetness. Aftertaste with the wheat’s touch. Palate: medium beer with silky texture. Medium carbonated. Slightly unbalanced, with a conjunction of sweet-species that stamps a slight exotic touch. Nice alcoholic degree some hidden for the sweetness. I had major expectations of this beer.

Pours a dark brown with a fizzy white head. The head seems quite cola like and fizzy as it disappears. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. The flavor is malty with a bit of raisin, banana, and chocolate. Colalike follow through. The first few sips were quite nice but it didn’t hold up that well to me. Good but not great.

A 750 ml bottle, best buy date on the back. The head and body are just like a cola in comparison. Malt and fruit flavors more than anything. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, with medium white head. Aroma is yeasty, with smoke, spice and cherries. Flavor is yeasty, spicy, with a little caramel. Tingly on the tongue, little bit of alcohol in aftertaste. I hace to say, it is not at all what the label says.

Nice. Aroma is white wine, raisin, date, coriander, misc. spices along with pepper, pine hops and cookie malts. Appearence is dark monotone brown with a frothy brown head. Flavor is spicey and it goes down creamy smooth with a warming finish.
