750ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Clear, dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, liquorices and dry fruit. Flavor is rather sweet malt, some dry fruit and spices, brown sugar and warming alcohol. Big, strong and elegant.

Thin coarse beige head. Dark brown to near black body. Dry fruity and lightly toasted malt aroma. Notes of spices and yeast. Balanced and complex taste of dark fruits, light sweet dark malts, herbs and spices. Mildly hopped with notes of milk-chocolate and dark bread. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium to full body. Vinous mouthfeel. Very nice and very elegant. (Bottle @ RBNAG’07)

2004 Vintage. Pours a dark black with a thin brown head. The aroma is dark fruits, cherries, raisins, brown sugar and alchol. The flavor is tremendous. A bit of sweetness, brown sugar, plums, raisins. Clean aftertaste. Very well made beer, this might be the best I’ve had from this brewery.

750 oz. pour. Poufy, big light tan head which quickly diminishes. Aroma is malty, milky and somewhat caramel-nutty. Front palate of fruit and spice, with a malty middle and finish of coffee with some bitterness / dryness. Nice heavier beer for colder months.

75 cL bottle, thanks to Carsten for bringing me this from Boston. Pours deep brown with a huge light brown head, quickly diminishing. Aroma is malty, alcohol heavy wineous, notes of dried fruit and a slight yeasty spice note. Flavour is rather sweet caramel malty. Has notes of fruits and yeast in the flavour. The yeast holds some vague spices but no match to the Belgian rolemodels. Has a light acidity lingering. Ends slight herbal/spiced with a mild bitterness and medium dry.

Pours stout black. Aroma is slightly fruity, with some yeast. Flavor is very very mild for a beer of this magnitude. I sense debittered black malt, but I could be wrong. Mouthfeel is nice and thick. Huge yeasty aftertaste.

The color was dark chocolate coffee. The head was thin, creamy, and medium beige. The aroma was sweet malt, alcohol, dark fruit, and some spice. The flavor was dark fruit, alcohol, ale, and aged. The palate was lively. The finish was warm.
