Commercial Description:
La Terrible is a dark brown beer on lees and is part of a collection of exotic and refined Unibroue beers brewed using 100% natural raw materials. It may be drunk as an aperitif or as an after dinner digestive. It is equally a perfect accompaniment to the above-mentioned dishes or a pleasant alternative to coffee.

Very dark, very creamy, very floral. It takes Trois Pistoles and morphs it into this totally different beer. All of the good of TP and solves the maltiness issue.

Bottle - Dark brew with creamy head. Malty nose with some floral hints. Complex flavors - sweet malt, raisin, hops, caramel, fermented fruit - warming alcohol. Medium to full bodied. I’d rather accompany this with food than comsume as a solo.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Heavy malty moderate hoppy aroma. Moderate sweet/bitter flavor. Lots of plum/rasin and week chocolate notes. Long complex nice finish. Creamy palate. Excellent beer.

Beer poured dark, dark brown with nice head and lacing. Aroma was nondescript, but the flavor sure wasn’t. Nice fruity malty goodness with a lot of spices and a definite strong hint of cherries. Very sweet, but not overly so. Mouthfeel was really carbonated, but it seemed to fit perfectly. This could be the best Unibroue! Good beer...go try it.

Pours almost black, with a full creamy head. Aroma of dates, figs, malt, molasses. Flavor is immediately caramel, dried fruits, with almost no bitterness. Not very complex, but a solid tasting beer. Will have again.

Dark, ruby brown; linkering small amber head. Rich, nutty caramel aroma. Big flavor of dark roasted malts, molassas, carob, pepper, poppy seeds, alcohol, prunes and kumquat with a lingering aftertaste of smoke, burnt caramel, sweet cane syrup and white pepper. I believe I’m drinking a 2005 now, but have had many years worth, fresh and aged. Always a treat.

The 750 ml bottle poured a very dark brown beverage with ruby highlights at the edges in strong light. It had a modest sized creamy off-white head that lasted throughout. The aroma is strong and complex with ample notes of coriander, orange peel, caramel and pepper with more subtle hints of aged leather. The body was moderately full with soft carbonation and a smooth, almost oily texture. The flavor starts out sweet, faithfully representing all the aromas mentioned above. The finish is still somewhat sweet accompanied by a very smooth alcohol warmth settling in the chest.
