The 750 ml bottle poured a very dark brown beverage with ruby highlights at the edges in strong light. It had a modest sized creamy off-white head that lasted throughout. The aroma is strong and complex with ample notes of coriander, orange peel, caramel and pepper with more subtle hints of aged leather. The body was moderately full with soft carbonation and a smooth, almost oily texture. The flavor starts out sweet, faithfully representing all the aromas mentioned above. The finish is still somewhat sweet accompanied by a very smooth alcohol warmth settling in the chest.

Brun ufiltreret øl. Meget kraftig duft og smag af kryderier. Alcohollen er hæftig. Super belgisk bryg, selvom den er lavet i Canada. Minder dog en del om trapisterne.

Wonderful brew. This Unibroue is like a lot of the other ones out there, but it has a pretty wonderful spice hint to it. Overall I’d have to say it’s one of my favorites of theirs. Slight smoky taste, with a nice brown sugar taste.

2004 bottle. Thick, dark black pour, with creamy tan head. Carbonated well. I get bright apples in the nose, and a dash of caramel and other spices. Flavor is mostly cider and apple. Very smooth, watery, easy on the palate, with a good finish and aftertaste. I’ll have to try a fresh bottle to compare.

My favorite from Unibroue, has a lively smoky taste. Delicious beer to savor, dark color and taste jumping all over the place in the mouth. Top notch!

22 oz bottle, burnt umber hue with light brown head, thick, lasting brown sugar characteristic of a begian strong ale, malty as well, nutty aftertaste, good one to split.

Looks and tastes like Trois Pistoles to me. Purple black color. Lots of fruit aroma and taste. Medium head because I opened cold to avoid a foam-over. No hops. I see no need for this as Trois Pistoles is cheaper!

Flaske. Fantastisk farve og duft rammer dig når du hælder denne øl op. Komplekse noter af malt, krydderier og rørsukker. Disse fortsætter i smagen, der er sammensat og ideel. Brilliant øl.
