Jul 29, 2007 Cloudy brown color, short creamy lasting head, perfect appearance. Aroma of Unibroue yeast, spicy, malty, plums, some alcohol. Strong taste of roasted malt, combined with lots of dried fruit and spices as well. Bit bitter finish. Very nice stuff.

Jul 28, 2007 One of my favorites that I enjoy regularly. Belgian candi sugar, yeast, raisins, malt, and hints of alcohol. Great beer.

Jul 18, 2007 Caged and corked. Pitch black with a lightly active tilt around the edge, rising to a bright white ring of foam. Nice rich flavor of licorice, dates, raisins and maybe some dark cherry. Dances around in the mouth and goes down quite easily for a 10.5 ABV brew. Superb. (#3024, 7/15/2007)

Jul 16, 2007 pours cloudy dark brown with decent head that fades. aroma is spicy with lots of phenol (bananas and other fruitiness) with some fig and ripe fruit. taste is tart fruity with lots spiciness and a good amount of booze towards finish. theres is good amount of dark fruit and toffee sweetness. good stuff.

Jul 14, 2007 2004 750mL purchases at Beer World of Largo that pours deeply amber with one inch tan head. The aroma is fairly strong with crushed black grapes that have been backing in the sun for thirty minutes. There’s also notes of sour sugar candy, figs, raisins and yeast. The flavor is much like the aroma with black grapes, figs and raisins that slide into a bit of tartness about midway. Into the finish more fruity sweetness, yeast and more fruit dominate the palate. Very nice brew with no sense at all of the big ABV.

Jul 12, 2007 this beer is scary im not gonna lie. dark as hell with such a strong taste of alcohol you can barely tell whats going on till your like half way done the bottle and built up some tolerance to it. then it becomes a little sweeter but still out of control. i like to be able to take a nice swig of my beer and be a lttle refreshed you know. but this is like wine to me.

Sourish and yeasty nose. Some wood and alco-feel.
Sweet and frutiy flavour. Pretty sweet with burnt, dark sugar.
