La Terrible is a dark brown beer on lees and is part of a collection of exotic and refined Unibroue beers brewed using 100% natural raw materials. It may be drunk as an aperitif or as an after dinner digestive. It is equally a perfect accompaniment to the above-mentioned dishes or a pleasant alternative to coffee.

It pours dark mahogany with ruby highlights; the head is bone and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: cardamom, cloves, yeast funk, hay, figs, and alcohol. The taste is dry that finishes light bitter; there are notes of: cloves, figs, a tiny bit of burnt coffee, and lots of alcohol. The palate is full bodied, slick, medium carbonation, and a long finish. Overall, when this is young itís very closed - definitely needs a couple of years to perk up.

Bomber share thanks to Matt. Appearance: three fingers of khaki head, dark red-brown color, clear. Aroma: lemon, brett, basement yeasty, light raisin, plum. Palate: medium body, dry finish, light carbonation. Taste: super sweet-light fruity tartness. Overal, great balance, unique beer. My new favorite from Unibroue

On tap at the hollywood gardens. Odd mild perfumy aroma. Yes, first taste is strong and spicey. However, you would never think this stuff was near 11%, way to civilized for that. Yes, hides alky well. Not much co2 and finish is quite medicinal. I think Iím getting dizzy half way thru this glass.

Opened a bottle from 2011 which was pure heaven. The pour is a dark viscous burgundy with a fizzy tan head that en cloaks the glass with sticky lacing. The nose is rich and sweet with dessert like fruit and toffee aromas, mild prune and raisins blend well with a dusting of cocoa and heaps of molten toffee and caramel. Delicious mid palate with heaps of fruit and sweet malts. Delicious warmth on the finish with delactable cherries, raisin and prunes. Great brew

Bomber with 1yr age into a big glass mug. Has a really dark root beer brown color. Opaque. Large tan head that fizzles quick. Nose is of bread, yeasts and fruits. Smells like a belgian. Lots of fruit flavors, and yeast bread flavors. Good mouthfeel. Not too bitter, and not too malty. Pretty nice Belgian.

Poured into a tulip glass. Pours an inky black, with a large rocky brown head which slowly dissipates and leaves good lacing. Nose is chocolate and coffee. taste is chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit. Delicious. Another winner from Unibroue.

Aromas of clove and other spicy phenols, and dried dark berry fruit, roasted malt, and subtle banana. Very dark, almost black, with ruby-bronze highlights, head is minimal but long-lasting. Dry and spicy, with a savory earthiness, herbaceous, bitterness redolent of citrus fruit rind. Medium bodied, refreshingly carbonated, finishes with lingering fruity esters and earthy bitterness.
