It certainly had belgian notes to it, a dark fruityness, a candy sweetness, carbonated mouthfeel. But it was also dark and malty. 10.5 is miles away. I thought this was quite good and special.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2010 This thing pours dark. A small beige head appears and slowly disappears. The nose is raisins, fig, caramel, and some chocolate. The taste is similar with a dark fruit finish. A great Belgian Strong. Upon opening the bottle and pouring I was struck by a cherry smell, this was unanticipated. Taste was initially bitter at first and sweet towards the finish. Felt Terrible had a full and thick feel to it. My first taste left me unimpressed but subsequent sips changed my mind and at the end I really enjoyed it. TheGrandMaster (1882), Auckland, New Zealand
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottle (in NZ). What a beer to bring in the new year with. Was everything but "terrible". Velvety, didn’t come across anything like 10.5%. Would have happily drunk it until the next new years... nate2g (1150), Brisbane, Australia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a laced beige head. Aroma and flavour of raisniny malt, figs, caramel, chocolate and pepper. Fantastic balance all round with a welcomed complexity and easy to drink considering the high abv. Sweet fruity finish. A well brewed Belgian style strong ale. Mjollnir (31), Canberra, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 750mL bottle. Pours a translucent dark red with a small light brown head that leaves no lacing. Immediately upon opening there is a complex aroma reminiscent of a sweet red wine. In the glass there are also aromas of yeast, caramel, cherries, citrus and dried fruit. The flavour is very sweet (possibly excessively so), slightly spicy with some tartness and almost no hop character at all. The alcohol is noticeable but not overt. Medium to full bodied, tingles pleasantly on the lips and tongue like a sparkling red but is not excessively carbonated, and is otherwise quite smooth with a sweet and slightly sour finish. jonno (609), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Big and spicy - If you like the unibroue yeast you will love this beer. I could go either way depending on the day, but this is on par with most really good belgium beers. Dark fruit, raisins, spice. There is a lot going on and may be a bit much for some, but I quite enjoyed it. Cheers to volcanicbeat for this beauty. WLG423 (86), Connecticut, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Almost black body with a rather bubbly but small caramel colored head. Aroma is tangy with a slight barnyard smell and notes of hay and grass. Flavors of cherry, malt, some vanilla, and some grass. Mouth feel is light especially for such a complex beer. Bitter finish that has strong staying power. Rciesla (3915), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
