3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Wolfenkopf (137) - Villa Park, Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2011
Nice aroma. It is a nice mixture of yeast and hops, a bit of sweet smelling citrus is thrown in to round it out. Cedar head that stays a little while with some lacing. A foggy amber color completes the brew. The taste is an interesting sweet and sour combination. Flowery and hoppy, it has a citrusy background. The carbonization is at a comfortable level, leaving the rest to form a pleasant oily effect. The aftertaste is a bit sour, a bit hoppy, but neither inhibits your enjoyability.

Draft. Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma of lemon, oranges, spice, clove. Flavor is yeasty, slightly sweet, honey, minimal booziness or bitterness. Very refreshing, Unibroue rocks.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Dixonian (939) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 One of my favourites from Unibroue. Such a unique and flavourful brew. Bready yeast and ripe fruit aromas. Love the balance of hop spice and malt depth. One of the first beers that made me truly start to appreciate the uniqueness of Belgian style brews.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 fourplayed (69) - Lakewood, California, USA - JAN 20, 2011
mildly hazy amber with nice off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of mildly sweet orchard fruits, cherries, pears, apricot with some spice and a bit of yeast funk. Taste is very well balanced...cherries with apricot or peaches, malts, some funky yeasts with a mild to medium alcohol presense. Medium body with champagne like carbonation, med alcohol warmth and a decent dry finish with a bit of bitter hops. Very glad I tried this. A very worthy brew in this style. Well worth coming back to again and again!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rader58 (576) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - JAN 14, 2011
Pours a hazy burnt orange. Aroma is fruity and spicy. Orange, lemon, wine, cinnamon, nutmeg come through. Flavor is spicy and citrus up front with a tartness to it. These flavors carry through the middle to which molasses and roasted grain starts to appear in the finish. Nice melding of flavors.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 gramity (520) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 13, 2011
Pours a deep cloudy ruby color with a thick two-finger near white head. Head retention was very respectable with noticeable lacing.
The nose for this brew is very sweet. I detect an earthy clove-like smell, some sweet fruitiness, some fairly potent yeast-funk, with a slightly bitter finish. This aroma is complex and inviting.
The taste of the beer is strong and very rich, in other words, it is what you expect from the nose. Flavors are malty with evident citrus notes. Hints of berries or fruitiness come through with a dry partially bitter finish.
The mouthfeel is more assertive than I was anticipating for the style. It goes down very smooth given the ABV and gives your tongue a nice tickle.
The Belgian characteristics of this beer are up front and center and come through the bountiful aroma and flavor profile. None of this comes across as over the top though.
Overall, this is an absolutely exceptional product.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DavoleBomb (965) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2011
Poured into a Czecgvar lager glass.
4.5 A: Hazy medium brown. Two fingers of frothy near white head. Good retention and lots of lacing.
4.0 S: Big spiciness, clove. Fruitiness from esters. Bready malts.
4.5 T: Light fruits (not tropical though). Somewhat of a burn/toasted flavor from dark malts. Big spicy kick with cloves. Alcohol is well hidden. Hop character is minimal and brings balance to the brew.
4.0 M: Medium body. Really smooth and creamy, but a bit too much carbonation.
4.5 D: Not quite a sipper, I could drink this all night.
