3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
alcohol, yeast, and sweetness abound in the nose. the golden red body holds up a head that is comprised of huge bubbles that dissipate fairly quickly thanks to the high alcohol. the flavor has lots of fruits and lots of alcohol in it with a little bit of a yeast bite in the end.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich copper colored, huge coarse head on pour. Noticibly malty, high ABV covered reasonably well. Touch of bitterness. Good ale overall, however I preferred the sweet, golden La Fin Du Monde. For some reason I am amused by the concept of a flying canoe.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Spice and apple in the aroma. Nice white head, good carbonation, appearance looks a lot like cloudy apple juice. Malty, spicy, and a hint of fruitiness in the flavor. ABV is not noticeable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer poured a copper amber color and formed a white bubbly head that left trace lace. A small amount of carbonation is present. An aroma of malt, caramel and spices. A flavor of malt, caramel, citrus and some spice. The finish is a touch sweet, yet astrigent. A nice Belgian.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2003 Gorgeous orange/red/brown color. Immense amounts of tiny bubbles and a slight haze make it nearly opaque. Not surprisingly, the head is a perfect half-inch and is fluffy and beautiful with staying power and sheets of lace akin to a nitro-can brew. Sourdough and yeast in the aroma with a hint of banana. Some spice up front. Creamy mouthfeel is complemented by the fine carbonation. Sweetly malty with some apple tartness. Has a definite wheat character. Yeast is a also apparent. Hops come alive as the beer warms, adding a pleasant bitterness and some citrus flavors as well. Somewhat short but clean finish. I enjoyed this down to the final remaining drop in my chalice.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a wonderful example of a Belgian style ale. Very similar to Chimay Red and almost tastes like a cross between the Red and the Blue.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I liked this one much better on tap than from a bottle, but it's still a very drinkable ale. Great aroma, sweet & malty body, acidic finish.
