Acrid and tart aroma reminicent of apricots and spice. Nice thick head good hazy mostly clear orange liquid. Good sharp taste. Very acrid and tangy with peach and spice notes present. Good finish. Just a tad on the yeasty side. Nice flavored belgan.

A very good Belgian Ale. Pours a cloudy amber/orange with a big head tha rpidly diminishes into a sheet that leaves wonderful lacing as you work your way through the glass. Aroma reminded me of apples that had been on the ground about a week, kind of sweet with a hint of it’s previous tartness. Goes down just like a good belgian should, big flavors that are constantly changing from fruit to the sweet maltiness, hop bitterness, spices and around again. I am kicking myself for having passed this one up so many times.

Alcohol prescence overwhelmed other postive aspects of this beer.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2003 Wife really liked the color. I love the peachy aroma. Not much head, with tiny bubbles. Taste is kind of sweet. Kind of taste like Amor De Paris peach sparkling wine. I really like it. Re-rate: Not quite as good as the first time. Still excellent, but not quite as complex as I rememberer.

Pour is a nubilous amber to copper color, the head behemothic in size and creamy in its consistency, the lace thick glutinous sheets that seal themselves to the glass. Aroma of ripe plums, sweet with hints of yeast and malt, quite pleasant to senses. Start is sweet, the top middling in mouth feel, the finish tart, the carbonation biting and the hops masterful in their spicy presence, dry somewhat alcohol bitter aftertaste lingers on. It is hard for me to say if I like La Fin Du Monde or Maudite better, guess it’s a tie and I will have to sample a few dozen more times to break that tie? Oh what about Trois Pistoles? A three way tie what a shame.

Cloudy, leather colored body with a thick persistent tan head. Lots of lacing.
Lots of yeast and diacetyl in the nose. Who put the banana in my beer ;o)
Fruit and yeast dominate the flavor. I know there’s raisin and banana in there along with the yeast. Complex. Hard to identify everything that was there.
Smooth and drinkable. Slight carbonation but you don’t notice it in your mouth.
Alcohol is hidden well.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2012 Champagne-like carbonation. Floral, fruity aroma and flavor. Fairly sweet but with a mild spicy finish. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a solid tan head. A bit thinner bodied, and with less plum and dark fruit overtones than the Trois Pistoles. 8% but hides it amazingly well. Another winner from Unibroue.

Cloudy light copper with a white head. Body of the beer looks almost like a hard cider. Nose more of fruit than of beer. Taste is banana, yeast, melon; the apples that I remembered from an earlier tasting are no longer there. Finish with a little hop, a little pepper, a little clove. I have to assume this is a wheat beer, but it is more in the style of an Aventinus then a Belgian, and I love it. More my style than the more Belgian Fin du Monde from Unibroue. A little bit bubbly, pleasant but less mouth filling as a result. Great beer.
