Oct 13, 2008 Pours a dark brown / amber color, opaque, with a 2-finger foamy off-white head that disappears pretty quickly. Aroma is a sweet caramel-y spice with some fruity banana plum fusion. Flavor has a lot of spicy yeast. I’m getting some cranberry and sweet prunes, but it finishes pretty dry. A light and pleasant bitterness left on the tongue. The body of this is a little bit lighter than I thought it might be. For the type of beer, it almost surprisingly refreshing. Another solid offering from Unibroue.

Oct 12, 2008 Have had this one in the cellar a while, finally decided to break it out and it does not disappoint. Fantastic looking coppery color, thick white small bubble head, decent lacing and retention. Brilliant aroma, oh so good, plums, graham crackers, a sweetness to it. Palate is full of small bubbles, tart and sweet all at once, sugary, with some warmth. Loved this.

Oct 11, 2008 On Tap at the Father’s Office, Culver City. Nose: phenols, sweet yeast, plums and sour apple. Pours: reddish brown with full tan head. Flavor: begins with sweet plum and cranberries with and earthy grassy dry hop finish in the throat. Medium to medium heavy body, medium carbonation. Drinkability is medium to high. Kind of like a less intense Trois Pistoles and really weak Judgment Day. Still, though, very nice and very enjoyable.

Oct 10, 2008 This is my second offering from Unibrou, my first being La Fin Du Monde. In comparison, I think the latter is better, but this defintely holds it’s own. This pours a reddish dark amber, with a light brown head. It’s aroma has some licorice, and burnt sugar, with a hint of raisin. The flavor follows obediently, being very similar to the aroma. Good beer, from a good brewer. Cheers!

Oct 8, 2008 This strong ale is number 21 on my quest at beerfest in Sept. 08. I am pretty drunk now but I am still coherient and my mission is stil clear. Try every beer on my list. Beers like this one helped me reach nirvana today.

Oct 7, 2008 MIrky, malty appearance with a thin head on pour. The bottle has a wine cork effect to allow for freshness of malts when drinking. The smell is pleasant but taste is similar to a lager. Overall, tasty and memorable.

Oct 5, 2008 Maudite pours a rich brown with a nice size head. The nose is fruity, spicy,and complex. Flavor is of dark fruit ,spice, light alcohol, and gets better as it gets to a cool and not cold temperature. The body is full with a nice effervescence. Great ale!!

Hazy Brown/Amber pour from bottle. ARoma was light and didn’t provide any clues to the flavor for me. Nice Creamy off-white head that lasted for a while and left nice lacing on the glass- Flavor was a bit dark fruity with some spice - woodsy outdoor in the flavor - mouthfeel is thick/carbonated -
Awesome flavor - very complex
- I originally rated this at 3.9 but changed it after the brew warmed I almost couldn’t stand the dark fruit flavor. - against the brewers recomendation you Need to keep this one cold!
