4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured a hazy honey brown with champagne effervescence. Thin sudsy head that lasted down to a cap, soapy lacing. Aromatic and exotic. Complex with lots of Belgian yeast dominant. Thick fruits and a little spice. The sweet malt in the background comes to the nose like temptation. The hops are revealed on the palate floral and herbal. The malt is especially deep and full. Peaks smoothly with moderate carbonation and devilishly plays tricks in the glass with a slight reddish tint. Not too heavy to enjoy and lightly boozy at 8%. It’s demure but not afraid. What a wonderful way to keep your eyes on heaven.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours slightly cloudy amber with small-medium off-white head that reduces to attractive skim but doesn’t leave lacing.
Especially closer to room temperature, the nose ranges through apple, banana, clove, pepper, caramel, dough. On the palate, there’s also orange oil, and the peppery alcohol cuts the sweetness. Creamy medium body with alcohol heat slightly drying the finish.
I don’t know how these Québécois do it, but this is another argument that Canada is the New World home of Belgian _ that is, great _ beers.
Pours clear pale to medium amber with one finger of pillowy off-white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, no lacing. (4/5) Nose is banana and cloves, doughy yeast, stone fruit, caramel malt. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter. (8/10) Medium body, lively carbonation, off-dry lingering spicy finish with a moderate alcohol warming. (4/5) Not a lot to say about this - a true classic, and one of the best Belgians outside of Belgium. Smooth and drinkable despite the higher ABV, which manifests as a pleasant warming. (16/20)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium copper colour, with a light white head.
Aromas are apples, red fruit peels, bit of bread, bit of brewed coffee.
Crisp palate, with a medium to light mouthfeel.
More fruity tastes. And some spicey nuttiness.
Overall, this is a good solid brew, but I was expecting more (haven’t had it in years and I was drunk with a dead nose and palate that time, so this is my first real review of it). Ok, but I wouldn’t run out and buy more.

Pour is amber with a persistent off-white cap. Nose is lots of doughy Belgian yeast, cloves, apricots, plums, caramel. Taste is sweet but surprisingly dry. Lots of yeast, nice, but not overpowering, alcohol warmth. Nice quasi-micro.
