4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 5, 2009 A peaky smell with malts and citrus fruits without that citrus tang. Thick and bubbly, a bit reddish with golden light, this is what a beer SHOULD look like in movies and posters. taste is initially a bit weak as the malt comes on but then there is an overwhelming wheat and fruit taste with the fruitiness lasting into the aftertaste, As always, excellent carbonation on the troung from Unibroue. After having one of these a long time ago and then finding another on the shelf, there are absolutely fantastic and I think I will go see if I can get the last of them.

nice piece of sturgeon with a light soy ginger thai pepper ginger sauce and a nice side of rice /corn/edamame mix and some robbie fulks playing in the background, and this beer. can smell this yeasty slightly rubbery spiced up aroma as the beer is poured into my goblet. almost overflowing awith a hazed yellow that leans toward dark with lots of bubbles going off. the head reduces down quickly, yet keeops a decent presence. i find myself more and more loving the aromas of this breweriees beers. this is no exception. mmm, the pineapple sweetness really compliments the food. a bit of banana in the finish, with a drying pepper side. shit, i find a good beer to pair with seafood, and it’s a fucking one off. oh well, i’ll just enjoy it while it’s here. lemon and pineapple, and plowed tangy earth, who knew it could taste so good? fruity and refreshing and still rich and dry and a few other things that my undereducated ass can’t put to words. hints of apple and melon mix in there. this has a wheat flavor that is what i look for in so many hefe’s but i don’t even know if there is any in here. the yeast melts everything together amazingly well. i’m going to stop analyzing, and just eat and drink for a while.3 8 8 5 20

Pours a lovely clear orange amber with a very thick and rather persistent fluffy white head that leaves only minimal lacing. Fruity aroma is mainly apple and banana and has firm malty and yeasty notes. Mouth-filling flavor has tones of apple, malt, banana and yeast as well as hints of caramel and butterscotch. Smooth, full-bodied texture has a subtle tingle and leaves a mild but persistent fizz behind. Happy 400th birthday, Quebec!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Syrupy, spicy, apricot honey nose, hints of fresh dough. Clovey pepper soaked in canned peach syrup sweetness, intense old fashioned clove candy sweetness, orange peel bitterness, superbly balanced. Big effervescence, medium body, leather pepper fruit finish, with mellow and long alcohol burn. Wonderful beer, extremely complex, flavors are bold, structure is rock solid, this would probably age nicely.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
hazy, gold color with a thick, white head. seems a bit over-carbonated. banana, melon, possible bubblegum? and a bit of citrus on the palate. far from the best offering from this brewery, but a great addition to the choices of Belgian-style beer. The relatively low alcohol content makes this a bit more easy-drinking than many Belgians.

Bomber at Jerrys. Hazy, dark gold with big, foamy white head / Floral nose of apple, citrus, and spice / Medium body, Unibroue fizz, gentle balance of malts and hops, with a touch of sweetness and good finish / Flavors of banana, pear, orange, apple, clove, and coriander / A personal favorite from Unibroue.

This is the best Unibroue beer I’ve had yet. Incredible musty and funky aroma with a lot of yeast. Pour was a perfect light gold with a lot of bubbles and a huge 3 finger white head. Taste was fantastic. Lemon, yeast and funk in the front with a tart and sour dry aftertaste. Very heavy carbonation that bites the cheeks and refreshes. I thought most of their beers tasted very similar but this is a league of its own
