Bottle 750 ml. 2009. Drank it at 70C. Pours a beautiful dark red, almost ruby like. Complex aroma including spices, cherry, cinnamon and honey (the latter being mostly present in the taste). Taste is a good blance of sweet and sour. Reminds of cough syrup. Texture is syrupy. Little to no carbonation. Overall, well, it is a unique beer that certainly worths a try. Its warmness is very enjoyable.
Bouteille 750 ml. 2009.

750mL 2010 bottle. Pours with no carbonation, hazy, deep rouge with tea highlights.
Cold: Rich dark cherry nose with dessert profile. Very nice. Taste is sweeter, slightly sticky, small mace/spices. Palate is thick and dessert heavy.
Hot: Nose is muted cherry, more spices. Taste is nicely lactic with warming spices. Much better hot I think. No stickiness. More like herbal honey tea with mulled red wine. Interesting experience. Definitely improved after 20-30 seconds in the microwave. Fun stuff.

Just another Minnow Monday. Hot it reminded me a bit of a cherry medecine while cold it was a bit fruitier and less tart. Strange beer but still good.

Tried hot, it’s like hot cherry cider. Actually pretty cool. Deep cherry flavors.

750 ml bottle, best by 31.12.2025. I think that means it’s a 2010 bottle. Tried side-by-side, hot and cold. Pours a cloudy, deep reddish color with a very small head initially that vanishes quickly. Notes of smooth cherries and other berry fruits, brown sugar, cinnamon, herbs, and balsamic vinegar. The flavor shows an even bigger dose of sweet, smooth cherry flavor, oak, brown sugar, tart grapes, caramel malts, cinnamon, and herbs. Medium-full bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, spicy, somewhat tart mouthfeel. Complex and smooth. The hot version showed more of the spice and malt, and I found the chilled, fruitier treatment more complex and drinkable. Excellent fruit beer.

From notes.
This is a Pretty bizarre beer. On the back it recommends to try it on ice, or hot so I will try it both ways, and also a little cooler than room temperature.
On ice:
Poured to a small Karmeliet tulip glass with two cubes of ice.
Light brownish red, the ice makes it a little lighter. No head.
The nose at this cold temperature is predictably pretty weak, I get cherry juice and that’s it.
Very still, this is like drinking "grown up" juicie juice, the taste is cherry juice with a minuscule amount of bitterness that I’d attribute to the alcohol. However strange, it is very refreshing. The mouth feel is very light and watery, a wildly clean finish.
Slightly below room temperature:
Pours a rich ruby redish brown. No head, no lacing.
Aroma is almost like grenadine, very sweet, lots of syrupy cherry aromas with a bizarre barbaque suase like tang.
Again, cherry juice. There is a little bit of tartness to the finish like that of sour cherry chased by a tiny bit of alcohol.
The mouth feel is pretty open with a slightly syrupy feel. It goes down pretty smooth, no carbonation.
Heated in a sauce pan until lightly steaming:
Same appearance as room temp.
The nose is pretty exciting for this one. Very sweet, intence burning alcohol aromas like fusel oil, I assume this is due to the alcohol evaporating, a tinge of caramel, vanilla, candied fruit.
Nice taste, big cherry flavors, burnt brown sugar and hot alcohol similar to that of a big barleywine needing a long timeout in the cellar. Still has a pretty syrupy flavor.
Mouthfeel is still pretty light but with a way more syrupy and smooth feel than at the other temperatures. There is defiantly more alcohol burn in the finish. After swallowing, inhaling air almost gives you the same cooling sensation as after having a mint, or after rinsing with mouth wash.
This beer is very different at each recommended temperature. The cherry really blasted thru at each temperature. What surprised me was how well the 9% ABV was masked until heated.
My favorite temprature for this guy was warm. I doubt I will ever drink this again simply chilled. However, I may buy this and enjoy it on ice in the summer, or hot on a cold winter day.

Well rounded but elegant flavor profile. Very distinct flavor but drinkable, or more preferably sippable, in conjunction with food or as a standalone.

Big bottle kindly shared by Sigmund. Clear, bright brown-orange with no head. Aroma rich with the spiced vinegar notes you’ll find in chutney. Cherries are also present. Full bodied and syrupy, the flavors are sweet, acidic and fruity. Nice aftertaste containig dried fruits, not unlike glühwein.
