Nov 21, 2009 24th August 2008. Well I didn’t know about drinking this hot! Doh! Hazy red brown beer. Very low carbonation. Sweet cherries but not sugary. Undertone of honey. Smooth with a smooth cherry finish. Very agreeable. Not sickly sweet, not acidic, very easy drinking. Wonder if it’s even better hot?!!

Nov 19, 2009 Half pint from the Unibroue rep at the Gingerman Fort Worth. Pours bright red with no head. Smells like sparkling grape juice and cherries. Tastes like white wine, more Welch’s White Grape Juice, sugar, and tons of cherries. Very tart. I don’t even really know how to rate this.

Nov 4, 2009 Ruby red color with minimal head. Aroma has some tart cherry and some sweet cherry. Flavor is all cherry with the right amount of tartness. Not medicinal and has a nice body and great finish.

Oct 24, 2009 Bottle. Aroma has notes of cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and autum spices. Medium dark reddish brown hue with no head. Flavor is sweet and a tiny bit sour with a nice holiday spice finish. Palate is full/medium bodied and flat. Very good flavor and aroma but the palate sucks without carbonation even if that was intended. Mix this with a belgium strong and they’d have something.

Oct 24, 2009 Great fruit beer. Served at room temperature. Dark red in color, cherries and spices on the nose. Palate is hit with both sweetness and some sour notes, with a warm alcohol finish. Excellent, and next time I’ll try it warm / hot.

Sep 15, 2009 Got two bottles of this vintage) at Gold Rush Liquors in Anchorage, during a visit there this past August. Colour...orange though almost red, with scarcely any head. Nose... sweet pie cherries and the pie sirup to boot! Palate... still nicely carbonated, sweet, coating, loads of cherry character and plenty of cinnamon. Truly a dessert in a glass. A joy to drink!

Aug 21, 2009 (750ml bottle, 4 year old vintage) Pours orange-red with no head. Smell is sweet gingerbread, and tart cherries. Taste is also tart, and lots of cinnamon. No carbonation in this one, has a sweet linger and an alcoholic finish. Very enjoyable actually.
