Color is hazy, dark copper and intense. It has no head at all but a small ring of foam appears with shyness. Fruity, yeasty aroma of sour cherries, liquor, sherry. When ice cold (on the rocks) it’s faint, but it’s very strong and alcoholc when it warms. The warmer, the stronger. Good but nothing too impressive. Flavor is decent with of course, cherries and honey touches. Sourish but with sweet edges, softer than expected. Rosehip, martini and alcohol complement the flavor. Much stronger when warm, tends to be a little watery when served "on the rocks". Medium to full bodied, syrupy texture. No carbonation at all. Highly alcoholic. Long finish. Weird beer.

Reddish color with low carbonation and almost no head. Sweet cherry smell. Sweet and sour in the taste. Reminds a little of flavored cough syrup but better. Thicher mouthfeel.

Bottled. Aroma is very spicy and fruity. It has clove, cinnamon ("speculaas/ontbijtkoek" ) and cherry. Pleasant. Clear, dark red coloured with not much head. Taste is sweet, quite spicy and has a decent cherry tone. Quite sticky mouthfeel. When heated, the spicyness is much less and the beer has a much less pronounced character. So just drink at normal temperature.

Don’t drink this hot. Very medicinal. I found that medicinal quality served normally and on the rocks also, but hot it was much more pronounced. On to the rating of the beer served normally. Taste is strong cherry, but not overwhelming. Like I said before, there is a cough-droppish quality to this. Bad bottle? Aroma is cherry and funk. Medium body. A little too sweet. Might be a drainpour by the end of the bottle. (It actually grew on me a little). Many thanks to xmarcnolanx for the bottle.

Bottled. Clear reddish color, no head just some lacing. Cold: aroma of clove, hint of cinnamon, quite fruity of cherry. Sweet taste, spicy again, no sourness. No alcohol noticeable, very easy to drink. Reminds me of Dutch ’ontbijtkoek’, probably because of the clove and cinnamon combination. Warm: nothing left of the spicy aroma, just some fruity notes and alcohol. Taste is very sticky, but hardly fruity and spicy anymore. Just very very boring when it’s heated. Cold: 3.8. Warm: 2.1

750ml bottle purchased at John’s Grocery. I sampled it both warm and cold. Cold: Poured a clear garnet red color without any significant head. Aroma was of pleasant fruity sour cherry. Sweet and fruity with dark fruit flavors including cherry, plum, and blood orange. Almost no carbonation. Warm: A thin frothy head grew out of the warmed glass. The aroma was much different. Sure there was some cherry, but it was overpowered by spices and fruity pancake. Smelled not unlike a warmed mixed fruit muffin. Sweet and spicy on the tongue with cherry liqueur and apple cider flavors. The alcohol seemed more pronounced when warm. I guess I have to go with the suggestion of drinking this hot. I liked it better that way.

BB 07-21. Pours a fairly clear, flat, cranberry color with a very small, white, frothy head which is nearly all diminishing and leaves minimal lace. Heated, the head grows to an average, frothy, creamy, cream-colored, mostly lasting head leaving tight frothy lace. The nose at cellar temperature is spicy with cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, black cherries, and subtle hints at vanilla and doughy yeast. The hot nose is similar but the cinnamon notes are dominant and spicy enough to tingle the nose and the cherry notes are like warm bing cherries from a hot cherry pie; other minor notes of honey and vanilla. The flavor from the cellar temperature is dull and uninviting with mainly notes of black cherry juice with minor spicing; almost medicinal. Hot is quite nice and much more inviting; it’s almost like drinking a cherry cider with a cinnamon stick. Flavor start with some overripe cherries and cinnamon and progresses to include lighter notes of honey, brown sugar, vanilla, and maybe some hints at some earthy, woody notes. Palate is mostly full, syrupy, and flat, which would be horrible in a beer served cool but not all bad in a hot beer. Finishes with some medicinal qualities and a some lightly bitter, earthy tea notes to round out the cinnamon and cherry syrup notes. Certainly a beer best served hot, in small quanities, and on cold nights. Certainly something unique and unlike beers served at cooler temperatures but the slightly medicinal qualities and the syrupy texture stopped it from being great. Fun and interesting to try with some friends on a winter night.

Foam Rangers tasting. No notes on appearance or aroma, but I do remember cherry on the nose. Flavor is big time cherry with malts and some spicy tartness. This was served at room temp, but I’ve heard of others warming it up in the winter and having as you would a cider. I’ll have to try that for fun with my bottle next winter.
