2 Bottles sampled with Stegosaurus, and i have cellared 3 also. Poured a bronze/ reddish copper color, good smell of cherries and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, not tart at all, smooth excellent.

Bottle. Dark, red color, nice whitish head. Lovely cherry aroma. Very flavorful, stong cherries, yeast and a very warming alcohol afterburn. Drank it moderately cold (I can’t drink hot beer either, after having hot pilsners in Germany!).

Another rating from old notes.Enjoyed at Wawoods get together a long time ago. I had this warm and cold. Warm was a little better as the heavy fruit flavor was very fine. the alcohol was present but all part of an interesting treat.

I had this beer cold, not warm as recommended because I cannot drink warm or hot beer. Very sweet taste of fruit with some spices.

This is an amazing beer. I drank this after warming it briefly in the microwaved as was recommended on the label. As the name translates, this beer is really, "something". The aroma is spicy with hints of apple and spice. Reminds me of a slowly mulled cider or wine. Appearance is a dark, clear red. No cloudiness. The color is akin to cranberry juice. Flavour is increadible. This is really one to savour and sip slowly. The alcohol is present more in the aroma than the taste. The cherries are definately the dominating flavour adding a sweet, yet tart dynamic to this brew. There is absolutely NO carbonation in my example. The spiciness is welcomed as it adds a warming, comforting flavour. mmmmm, yummy. With no carbonation, this beer is pretty dull on the tongue in terms of pure feeling. No prickliness. However, the taste lingers on the tongue well after you have swallowed. The sweetness is detected on the sides with the tartness at the back. Great combonation. Overall, If I were giving this a blind taste test, I would have a hard time identifying it as beer. It retains a slight yeast flavour yet is mostly dominated with spicy and fruity notes. The alcohol is well hidden. This is definately a comfort beer. Cheers!

Served chilled. This kind of reminds me of mulled cider. this is a very unique beverage. I would like to try it warm next time.

Bottle, 2002 Vintage - points for the hot version.

Cold Clear red body with an orange-pink shine coming trough. No head. Aroma of sweet cherries, sherry, spices, ... Lightly sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly sour, moderately bitter finish. Very well balanced - somewhat sharp, but I like it. High viscosity, like cognac - ’sticky’. Very nice and well balanced fruity flavour. Points: 7/3/8/4/15

Hot Red clear body. No head. Nose of fruit (cherries) and spices (vanilla, clove). Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly sour, lightly bitter finish. The sharpness from the cold version disappeared. Resembles a (good) gluhwein. Points: 7/3/7/3/14
