beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 25, 2004 Drunk warmed up in a coffee mug. Nice, deep ruby color, no head at all. Aroma and flavor of cherries and spices, feels like ginger bread, yummy! Thin body, liquorous texture. This is a great nightcap, you go straight to bed after drinking it and you sleep like a baby ! I love this beer a lot, too bad it is so expensive. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark Oct 22, 2004 This beer indeed is the perfect christmas beer! Had it both warmed up and at room temperature and found it most interesting warmed up! Clear copper colored with no head. Lots of berries in the aroma along with christmas spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. Flavor is sweet and spicy and fruity with notes of cookies. Almost like drinking gløgg [mulled wine containing raisins and almonds]. Very interesting and different! Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark Oct 20, 2004 This beer is perfect for Christmas. Good as a supstitution to gløgg (mulled wine containing raisins and almonds)
Very fruity. Cherries and cinnamon. A real titbit. It gets better is its is consumed heated. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Oct 20, 2004 Had this warmed up, but also at room temp. The rating is based on the warm stuff. Huge aroma of cherries and marcipan. Red body, no head. Flavor is dominated by cherries, marcipan, various christmas spices. This is delicious, would like to drink this stuff instead of the dreaded glögg. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Oct 20, 2004 Bottled: Amber coloured. Not much head. This definately is a christmasbeer. Spices like cloves, cinnamon instantly comes to mind, when smelling this beer. Loads of cherry and sweet marzipan is present. This beer is very sweet and spicy with an underlaying mild sourness. I don’t want to drink very much of it. One glass is sufficient. Had it warmed up as well as cold. Kasteelfreak (341), Fallbrook, California, USA Oct 16, 2004 2002 release: On the rocks - tastes and smells like fermented spicy apple and cherry cider period. Not much carbonation. I think it would benefit from more carbonation when served cold. Room temp - Definately better than on the rocks. Body is a little fuller and the cherries are more pronouced. Heated - Brings out the sourness of the cherries along with a lot of cinnimon. I think I like the hot version the most, but the room temp version is pretty good also. I would stay away from trying it on the rocks. mustang3 (254), Whitby, Canada Oct 16, 2004 Never had anything like this. Drank it cold from a snifter, Deep ruby red in colour with no head and virtually no carbonation. The aroma is like a spiced festive pudding hiding the potent cherry flavours. The flavour is like mulled cider, but with cherry standing in for apple. This is a beautiful beer. microakes (94), Canada Oct 14, 2004 I think I was born loving this beer. Despite the fact that I don’t think they were making it yet. Easily the best beer I’ve ever been in the same room as. And as my boss said, "Some things are more important than work."
