This is the New Glarus Belgian red if it was toned down. Sweet aroma and a cherry red color. Sweet, but not too sweet, taste that is not too hard to drink. Very enjoyable. Try it cold, warm, and even hot.

Another most righteous Fruit Beer from the Unibrouers! Huzzah! Cherries abound and teach you what it’s like to be a delicious drink. You better pray to your mother before partaking of this one. It just might be your salvation!

Bottle, 2002 vintage. Pours light to medium brown, with no head at all. Aromas are cherries and spice. Taste is a lot like the aroma, cherries and spice, with some alcohol as well. Carbonation is very low, I wish it had more. It’s mostly sweet, with a little tartness at the end.

2002: Red color with a tinge of brown, lightly carbonated. Nose of fresh with sweet cherries and a odd light note of grains and other complex fruit. Well balanced by this time and age. Tastes like a fresh picked cherry with a excellent balance between sweet and tart, glad I aged this so long. Very delicious tasting though, I could drink this all night. I’m going to warm it up!

Old ass bottle I bought for Jordan 2 years ago. Well, it pours ruby.. a bit dark ruby, but still ruby. No head or lace. Hmm. The aroma is interesting. Mostly sweet cherries, but there is a hint of tartness. Alcohol. There is the cherry pie sense about the nose as well. Oh yeah, big time cherry pie filling. Tart and a touch sour. Cloying. Finishes well.. with cherries. Oh, and it was drank chilled. Good stuff.

I drank it cold. Yuck. Tasted like cherry cough syrup. I did not like this at all.

Certainly an interesting beer. The prescense of cherries is very strong. I tried both the room temperature and the chilled suggestions for serving this beer, and both were pleasurable. Chilling the beer lightened the tastes. letting it sit until room temperature gave it a more robust taste, especially in the cherry flavor. The aroma is very interesting and seems to allude to more complexity in the taste. Not quite sure what all flavors my nose is sensing, but it smells delicious. I didn’t taste a lot of depth in the flavor. The cherry taste is a good one, but that is about all that it has. This beer should be enjoyed in small quantities, perhaps on christmas or some other winter holiday. Warm it up and sip it next to a fire.

Cold:
Tawny red color with zero carbonation or head. The aroma is fresh and complex - with cherries, oak, vanilla...nice. The flavor was less appealing and not so complex.<P> Room Temp.:
The body was fuller than expected, thick and substantial. There just isn’t any subtlety in the flavor - cherries and alcohol. The finish is pleasantly dry and not puckering like some krieks. I was hoping for some wine-like characteristics that just weren’t there.
