I drank it warm as recommended. Nice cherry meets barnyard aroma, The temp gives the alcohol a vaporous quality that tickles the nose. Nice combination of cherry, malt, vanilla with a well-balanced sweet-tart quality. Pretty red-amber color with lacy head throughout. They musta thrown in a hop or two ’cause there’s a bit of bitterness at the finish. Enjoyable and warming.

2002 warmed and by a fire while it is raining, citrusy, cinnamon, became woody when we warmes it up, tart cherries, wonderful, just wonderful

Poured from a 750 ml bottle with a wire and cork seal into a goblet. Bottle has BB date of 31 Dec. 2025 -- so more than 10 years before the BB date! A: Medium ruby with no head and no lacing. S: Cherry cobbler with a touch of cherry liquer. T: Cherries!. Lightly sweet with bit more sour. M: Medium+ bodySyrupy . O: following the brewer’s recommendation, I tried the last oz hot... increased bitterness and not recommended. The other odd recommendation, on the rocks, seems more appealing. Overall: featues a pronounced sweet and sour cherry, leanng towards the tart side.

Best before 2019 bottle. No head, very little nose. Great dark red color, very smooth on the tongue, there is an interesting citrus note in the middle with a great sour cherry finish. Hidden in there is a bit of cinnamon.

Shared 750 ml. bottle at Lunar Brewing Co., and poured to snifters showing a darkest mahogany color, with minimal, off white head foam, and light spots of lacing. The aroma was expressive cherry, clove, and some mintiness? Medium+ bodied, the taste was quite sweet & juicy, with alcohol presence that was minimized by the former notes, a touch of tartness, and low effervescence that I wish was more pronounced, so as to better elevate the fruit juice flavor. Flavorful, nonetheless.

Sept. 11, 2014. Bottle from La Trappe restaurant in SF. Served at 60C. Ruby red colour, finely bubbled white head. Strong aroma of sweet cherry. Lovely smooth cherry flavour with characteristic Unibroue yeast flavour. Quite lovely on a cool autumn evening in front of a fireplace.

"this was a weird one. drank it both cold and hot (better cold). there’s cherry in the aroma and flavo, even dominant, but theres a lot of sweet malt, sugars, and tons of dark fruit and spices in there as well. Definitely toeing the line between a cordial and a beer. Not what i was expecting, but quite unique and enjoyable. Possibly the oldest beer I’ve ever had. Sampled 5-7-09, bottled in 2002! you can tell this beer is different by the range in scores

Bottle at home from backlog notes 07. Pours a slightly hazy dark reddish color with a small, disappearing pinkish head. Not much carbonation. The aroma and flavor have sweet cherry fruitiness, additional berries, mild spices, hints of caramel, slight tart, oak, yeast. This is a solid fruit beer that I have yetto try warm.

Bottle: Hazy copper with a minimal white head. Sweet, strong, cherry aroma. Taste is very sweet, cherry juice.. A very natural cherry flavor. Perhaps the most cherry-driven beer I’ve had yet. Nicely done.

It has a hazy, reddish brown colored body with almost no head at all. There were just a few small, light tan bubbles around the sides of the glass. The aroma is light with a modest tea like herbal hops and chopped up fresh cherries in the nose. The flavor has a mix of sweet, sour and tangy fruits and spices that reminds me off mincemeat pie filling with a warming brandy flavor note. Hop flavor is mild and herbal. All these flavors mix and mingle nicely on the tongue within a smooth and slightly sticky full body. This beer has a very deep interesting flavor and a wonderful full body that made for a nice slow sipping after dinner treat.
