The flavor initially knocks you back with a blast of tartness and spices, absolutely mouthpuckering. The flavor evolves into tart cherries and spices. If I skied this would be the perfect lodge beer. As is it’s a nice winter warmer, but i couldn’t drink it very often. caesar (3035), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Bottled. Clear reddish color, no head just some lacing. Cold: aroma of clove, hint of cinnamon, quite fruity of cherry. Sweet taste, spicy again, no sourness. No alcohol noticeable, very easy to drink. Reminds me of Dutch ’ontbijtkoek’, probably because of the clove and cinnamon combination. Warm: nothing left of the spicy aroma, just some fruity notes and alcohol. Taste is very sticky, but hardly fruity and spicy anymore. Just very very boring when it’s heated.

Aroma is sweet cherry and alcohol like a cherry brandy. Flavor is cherry sweet, some spice, a sharp tartness and a long dry finish. Smooth medium mouth feel. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2005 2002 Bottle: poured a flat reddish brown. Aroma of cherries, lambic-esque. Taste is full of cherries and cinnamon. Wasn’t expecting the cinnamon. First sip was strange but it settled down on my tongue and turned into something nice. Somewhat syrupy and gluhweinish. Nice. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2003 This beer poured a dark reddish amber color and formed no head to speak of. Just a small white line that would qualify more as lace than a head. The aroma was of cherries, but not the outdoor type you think of, but more the processed type you use in desserts. Also some other fruit elements which can best be described as giving it a fruit market/farm element to it. The flavor is of a similar sweet cherry style grown from marketing and mixing as opposed to pulled from a tree. Not overly sweet which helps it. The finish is slightly sweet with a touch of astrigency to it. Not the best that this brewer offers by far, but it's alright.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2004 Dark amber body, slight haze. Very little carbonation, no head. Intense aromas of sour cherries, worcestershire sauce, gingerbread spice. Vinous, spicy flavors, zinfandel-like. Complex. Rating based on room temp sample. I didn’t enjoy this heated. madsberg (5152), Søborg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2004 Bottled: Amber coloured. Not much head. This definately is a christmasbeer. Spices like cloves, cinnamon instantly comes to mind, when smelling this beer. Loads of cherry and sweet marzipan is present. This beer is very sweet and spicy with an underlaying mild sourness. I don’t want to drink very much of it. One glass is sufficient. Had it warmed up as well as cold.
