750 ml. bb 03-06-16. Lightly hazy, burnt orange body has nice legs sustaining a quarter inch of beady bubbles. Nose is toffee, spicy yeast, earthy white grape and toast. Flavor is toffee, dry spices (clove, nutmeg, ginger), a touch of earthy dark toast and some white grape raisins. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and a nice balance. This is a good Belgian Ale with only a hint of smoke; not sure if I would’ve even detected it if they hadn’t pointed it out.

Had a glass on tap at Alexandrias as part of a flight, so I didn’t take formal notes.

This one poured a hazy orange color with a whit ehead. Aroma was of caramel, yeast, and light smoke. Falvor was light smoked wood, belgiany yeasty spices and grain. Ok.

Draft at unos. Pours hazy reddish brown with a medium sized white head. The aroma has a light oak and a tad bit of snow. The taste is kind of sweet and candy sugar dominates the palate. Meh.

Bottle: Pours hazy orange-amber with a gigantic vanilla head. Tangy caramel and wood aroma. Taste is sweet toffee, very slight peat/tobacco..banana/clove. More woody than smoky...but a nice, rich scent and flavour.

750ml fresh from Save On. Amber orange with flat white head and chill haze and minimal lace. Sweet caramel toasted malts mild whiskey smoked malts some banana and bubblegum esters. Sweet toasted peaty brown sugar caramel toffee candy fruitiness with fairly light lingering yeasty banana and mild peaty smoke finish. Pretty good. Not as good as I remembered. A little too sweet.

From the corked, caged bottle marked best By 03-06-16. I’m about two years ahead of that date. Amber pour with a modest of-white head. Looks like a heady whiskey! Belgian yeast, Belgian sugars, and roasted malts figure big on the nose but the whiskey malt is more muted, Maybe because it is 5.5% ABV rather than double digits like a good whiskey. Medium to heavy body. Lovely flavors of classic Belgian yeast, sugar, and malts make it all worthwhile. Easy to drink.

Hazy brownish reddish muddy color with a huge, creamy, cream colored head. Filmy lacing. Aroma of ash and smoke, flowers, bubble gum, and spice. Taste is lightly smoky, yeasty, and mildly bitter. Medium bodied and slick with light fizziness. Pretty enjoyable.

On tap at Dutch’s. Hazy, sort of darker red orange amber color. Little, kind of bubbly off-white head. Some smoke in the flavor, but less smoke than expected. A lot more belgiany saison-like fruitiness. Light spiciness. Medium body. Moderate bitter taste, moderate sugary sweet, kind of zesty.. Some orange peel aroma. Solid, interesting stuff. Kind of effervescent and soft. I’d prefer it to have been a bit smoother and easier drinking. With the fruity bright belgian flavor, seems like it could have been pretty refreshing, but it’s not quite swiggable, more of a sipper, for me.

Smells like Belgian farmhouse yeast. Looks like murky water. Tastes malty with a chalky, dry, sweet finish. Lots of spent grain in the aftertaste. I’m never sure what this place thinks they’re doing.
