Un produit que j’ai toujours aimé mais qui manque aujourd’hui de corps en comparaison aux brassins québécois des dix dernières années. Bel équilibre entre le sucré et une certain goût boisé.

Enjoyed this while northropfrye was away. A little bit smokey but also sweet and flavourful. I liked it!

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma lacks personality: you know it's a UNIBROUE product but the smell is less complex than that of LA FIN DU MONDE or MAUDITE. Floral odor but not particularly inviting/striking. Appearance: certainly has the colour of whisky but does it taste whisky? Mouthfeel: a little chalky and undercarbonated; not particularly enjoyable. Taste: sweet but thin when it enters the mouth, citrus when you swallow it, then hazelnut after a while. No whisky however... To me, the problem with this beer is that the best part of it (and only fun part) is the after taste (hazelnut). Everything that happens before that is quite boring.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear golden amber with orange tinge and a white head with good retention. Aroma of light citrus pepper, spicy belgian yeast and a light sweet whiskey malty aroma. Taste is spicy belgian yeast, light smokey malts with a crisp and clean dry finish. High carbonation with a tingling sensation from the belgian yeast. Nice lightly smoked beer that’s easy to drink but would like to see more smoke flavor and aroma.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
341 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/amber with light head. Aromas of Unibroue yeast and light spice/fruit. Flavors of dusty yeast and malts. No smoke that I could detect. Seems to be a very basic beer for Unibroue.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
341ml bottle. Pours a murky caramel/orange colour with a one finger, off-white head that thins to a film quickly. Aroma is reminiscent of other Unibroue beers. Yeast, candy sugar, a touch of apple, and slight caramel.Taste is a bit sweet, but balanced, with a slight tartness at the end. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation. A bit slick in the mouth with a very nice effervescent carbonation. Overall I?m liking this. Not my favorite Unibroue but still taste. Might get again.

Unibroue yeast nose with a touch of citrus and spice. Amber in the glass with a nice head. A touch sweet. I didn’t note the smoke. Pleasant quaff.
