Bottled, 0.341l. Murky ruby brown color with small creamy tan-like head, soft visible carbonation and some yeast residue. Aroma of spicy yeast, rich malt, tropical fruits, orange peel and coriander. Taste starts sweet and rich malty, then followed by slightly sour dried fruits. Mouthfeel is warm with strong alcohol note. This beer is pretty well balanced, aftertaste is mild bitter and much more spicy. Full body, thick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Not really smoked, but certainly one of the best Unibrou’s that I have tried...

Color mogano chiaro con saponosa schiuma biancastra. Aroma debolmente speziato e luppolato, sentori di lievito, fieno e caramello; gusto non particolarmente intenso con note fruttate, maltose, zuccherate e legnose. Corpo medio-lieve, effervescenza debole; una birra piuttosto strana che piacerà maggiormente agli amanti del whiskey.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur ambrée et voilée. Nez de levures légèrement fruitées (agrumes) et épicées (coriandre), léger de malt sucré avec de faibles notes de houblon herbeux, de caramel et de notes boisées. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture aux faibles notes crémeuses. Léger goût de levures fruitées (agrumes) et épicées (coriandre) avec des traces boisées (fût de whisky) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un d’un léger goût malt sucrés aux notes rôties ainsi que des traces de caramel puis en finale l’on retrouve des petites notes de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen, très légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec des traces fruitées et boisées. (2005)

12 oz bottle dated 2-26-11 served in a Unibroue goblet. A tiny amount of sediment included in pour but most left in bottom of bottle. A medium mahogany brown color; slightly hazy; small tan head. Medium body; smooth; light carbonation. S: very faint aroma when cold, but this became acceptable strong with warming. Very appealing aroma in this whisky-tinged Belgian-style ale with fruity yeast aromas. T - Complex, yeasty. Belgian-style ale with good dark fruit notes, and a fine sweet malt base. Just faint hints of white pepper, smoky peat and whisky. Whisky seemed more evident in the aroma than the flavor. A little more sweet than bitter. . O: rating increased by interest and complexity; also mostly improved, based on memory and a previous rating, by aging in this bottle that was produced and purchased in 2011, and stored under refrigeration until Feb. 2013.

on tap Wow, nice smokiness and a great malt taste without the heaviness one would expect. Not an amazing beer, but a good drink.Some fruit taste and very easy drinking.

750 ml bottle - rating from memory. Pours a slightly hazy golden, nice white head. Smell is yeast, spices, some smoke. Tastes quite fruity, yeasty, with some welcome smokey hints. Did not quite get the whiskey in it. A fairly simple, yet enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Pours golden with a very soft touch of haze and a medium sized white head. Floral and fruity esters on the nose, lovely yeast. Medium bodied, sweet and fruity, a bit of wheat and malt. Fruity into the finish, yeast and just the faintest hint of smoke. Almost like a memory of smoke, vaguely detectable and imagined.

Bouteille de 341ml, robe cuivrée, arôme de levure et vanille, goût de whisky vanillé.

Bière blonde de 5.5 % d’alcool. Elle possède un odorat sucré et elle n’a aucun col au versement. Elle possède un goût de sucré et de fumé. On dirait que l’on mange un jambon à l’érable (petit goût d’érable en bouche). Léger goût de whisky, elle possède un goût assez fort en bouche. Bonne !!!
