Muddy amber-orange with a big eggshell head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrus, caramel malts and spices. Taste is quite caramel and fruity sweet and yeasty. Full body. A nice brew for sure, maybe a little too much caramel though.

Murky muddy orangish-borwn with a large quickly fading off-white topper. Aroma of heavy bready yeast right out the chute. Caramel, alcohol, apple, dark fruit and some spices follow. Effervescent mouth feel with a sweet, yeasty finish. Dark fruit, alcohol and that every unibroue beer feel. Ok.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 phredrik (986) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - SEP 15, 2010
Nice amber pour with a small consisten off-white head. Aroma has yeast, heather, tulips, flowers, little spicey, little oxidation. Taste has yeast, caramel, balsamic notes, yeast sweetness, malty. Decent, but this one may be a bit old.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rubbishystuff (1564) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Another very good beer for Unibroue, why retire it? Nicely spiced. Serving: Bottle
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 patrickfannon (1172) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2010
Bottle. 24.5 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a deep chestnut brown with a giant, fluffy, off-white head. Leaves some nice lacing down the sides of the glass. Aroma of granny smith apples, figs, raisins, vanilla, slight toffee, barley, toasted malts, and some great yeasty, doughy notes. Medium to fuller bodied with a crisp, sweet, slightly chewy palate. Finishes with a nice soft burn in the chest. Great Belgian strong from Unibroue. Expected nothing less.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dcschiller (1994) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 22, 2010
(bottle at Sean’s Unibroue tasting). Pours apricot color with off-white head. Aroma is candied sugar and dry dark fruit. Sweet taste. Medium bodied and somewhat thin. The texture is sticky. First time I had this beer and I think it’s quite nice.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strykzone (3813) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUL 31, 2010
750 ml bottle at The Flying Saucer in Memphis. Very fizzy in the bottle but not a big head nor a long lasting one. A cool looking beer. Medium brown and opaque. Soft dark fruit aroma. Gobs of dark fruit in the flavor. Figs, raisins, dates that make for a brandy-esque effect. Some deep resonant hops add spice, earth, and bitterness. They also add some much needed character to the fruit. Alcohol is never noticed. Smooth feel. A unique and interesting beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 WVHouseofBeer (701) - Kissimmee, Florida, USA - JUL 17, 2010
Aromas of caramel, spices and a little bit of alcohol. Pours a burnt orange color with very little head. Sweet flavors of apple, caramel and some spices. Medium-bodied and slightly chewy mouthfeel. It was a nice beer but nothing stood out about it; this is not one of Unibroue’s betters beers.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 4, 2010
Bomber. Shared with Hatchattack. Murky orange brown with huge soda pop bubbly beige head that disappears to super thin. Aroma is apple cider-like mixed with caramel candies all sugary sweet. Flavor follows suit with popping sweet never really bitter, slightly tart through finish. Light to medium wet long on the tongue.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Metalchopz (1747) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
Originally rated June 2005. This newest Unibroue beer pours a cloudy orange-amber with a cream-fizz tanned head. This one does not last long (compared to most Unibroue) but leaves a coat over the brew. The smell of the famous Unibroue yeast is there, mixed in with many spices. Then comes the taste. Seems very complex (like the commercial description), but something bothers me. A huge metallic taste at the finish. Starts dissapearing as the beer warms up. Strong bitterness of grass in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is semi-earthy. Well-brewed, but just not my favorite from Unibroue.
