blindeyedbetty (94), Arlington, Virginia, USA Nov 4, 2007 750 ml. bottle pours a cloudy apricot tinged with a ruby-red grapefruit pinkish hue. Plentiful tight, off white head dissipates slowly leaving no lacing. With a peachy citrus aroma, this smells almost more like a wine cooler than a beer. Aroma and palate overtones of heavy caramel. Sweet front palate with heavy body, caramel middle and tart finish with lots of carbonation. Definitely complex and probably too much for my palate to discern at this time, but definitely a great belgian that I’ll come back to as I get more experienced, if only to pick out more flavors!
bigrond (860), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 I really enjoyed this beer. I was a nice mellow flavor. Smooth as silk and poured a really nice cloudy sunset color. Skinnyviking (2596), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 14, 2008 Bottle. High fluffy off-white lasting head. Hazy brown body. Aroma of caramel plums nuts and raisin. Alcohol dominates the flavor of dried fruit and hops. Low carbonation, long aftertaste. kevd193213 (311), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle. Copper-brown pour with a thin white head. Aroma of apple spice and cinnamon. Taste of apples, bread and yeast with a nice slightly sour finish. durhambeer (378), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 26, 2008 Possibly my favorite so far from Unibroue. Strong notes of baked apples, cinnamon, and golden raisins on the nose. Caramel and light malt. Medium yeast; odd sharp finish at first but mellows nicely as one keeps drinking. Very solid. biznizness (687), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Jul 26, 2008 This was very citrusy and kind of sour, it was pretty good but I didn’t finish the whole bottle (it was a big one). Definitely not my favorite Unibroue, but they have set a high standard.
