dolemike1 (1105), Owings Mills, Maryland, USA Nov 19, 2006 Hazy, orangish/amber, off white head, spicy/citrus aroma, flavor is yeasty, spicy, citrusy, light bitter finish. Not bad.
Gurst (327), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Oct 4, 2008 Caramel and toast make up the big malt taste, although it fades into orange peel, coriander, and ginger. A little dry and bitter in the end. Body is full, and the color is a nice hazy orange. dolemite77 (166), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours hazy orange with a thick two finger orange/tan head. Aroma is fruity, mostly baked apple smells in this one for me. Flavors are vaguely fruity, with yeasty notes coming through. Lively carbonation, with a bitter finish. ajm (367), California, USA Sep 20, 2008 The commercial description is idiotic right now. Bottle from Lee’s Discount on Lake Mead. Beautiful subtle bouquet of cinnamon and almost rotting apples. A flavor that is full with no burn or sting or bitter: milk, cinnamon, vanilla, sweet wood. A full and beautiful beer that I could absolutely drink anytime. Wow. Liquid craftsmanship, liquid art. Trev (540), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Sep 15, 2008 pours a dark orangish gold with a medium off white head.
aroma is yeasty fruit, peach and orange zest, some caramel. light spice tones, mead like alc presence.
Flavour carries the mead like malt and honey. caramel tones, some spiciness, orange zest. Vanilla.
Alc is well blended. Finishes cleanly.
ekstedt (1954), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 15, 2008 Bottled at EBF 2008. Hazy amber, almost no head. Caramelly aroma with tropical fruits (mango and peaches) and spicy yeasty notes. Medium bodied, flat carbonation. Well balanced, not as sweet as other Unibroue beers.
