Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

deep black, hint of red at edges. Nose; tangy citrus, nutmeg, cloves, eucalyptus, sweet. Mouth; herbal, a little too sweet, good, but not amazing.

Draft @ the yadhouse in Rancho Cucamonga. Much darker than I was expecting, nose is delicious stone fruit, raisins and figs, taste is more of the same, very balanced sweetness/bite/spicy/alcohol. The alcohol, while clearly present, is well blended into the flavors. Really nice.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with a very effervescent tan head. The nose is a dusty vinousness with notes of yeast, raisin, and a musty sweetness. High carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. The alcohol is warming on the first sip. Ripe, dusty fruits, raisin, plum, spice, and light vinous notes on the palate. Medium-short finish. Overall an excellent Belgian worth seeking out.

12oz bottle. Pours brown with a small off-white head that lasts well down the glass. Nice lacing, although not sticky. Aroma is big on fruits. Flavor is very fruity, apple, apricot, grapes, pear, also yeasty, with some caramel malt. Very nice. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth, low carbonation. A wonderful Belgian-style ale, my favorite of the Unibroue line!

Dark ruby brown color pour with a dense frothy foam head. Aroma is fruity and wine-like with hints of dark cherry and spice. Balanced, but has a thin nature to the overall presentation. aroma is pleasing and appropriate. smooth finish that weakens as the beer is consumed.

Draft from La Cave du Vin in Cleveland. Pours an attractive hazy brown with a medium creamy tan head. Complex, well-balanced profile of fruit, nuts, caramel, malt, alcohol, raisins, and spice. Every sip is as good as the one before it. One of the best Belgian strong ales out there.
