Bottle at the Bier Garden in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter. Pours a deep dark cherry with a thin eggshell head. Not much lacing. Aroma of sweet, dark fruits and spices. Taste is amazing. Sweet dark fruits, spices, hoppy bitterness to balance. Creamy full body. Finishes slightly dry like a wine.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Corked bottle. Best by 11/20/15. Such a great beer. Ripe dark fruits and Belgian yeast from a deep but clear mahogany colored ale with a pillowy off white head. Tastes like sweet dark ripe fruits and spices with some yeasty notes and a touch of alcohol. Silky smooth body. Really an outstanding beer.

From bottle. Dark clear amber brown color with fizzy head. Aroma is bubblegum, sweet spice, and roasted malting. Taste is cola, roasted malt, clove, and a touch of liqueur alcohol. Effervescent and light mouthfeel with a sweet and slightly spiced roasted finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
poors a bit hazy, dark beer, not like a stout, but still pretty dark. light head not creamy. nose is nice, not powerfull, subtile but fantastic. you can smell the roasted malts. realy light taste for a 9%abv, well equilibrated, with chocolate, roast, bit of caramel. long lasting after taste, nice palate. carbonation is medium high, really refreshing for a strong beer, quite impressed. its a must try!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I really liked this one. Definitely malty with the caramel and chocolate sweetness. Spicy, though not as spicy as other beers with that label. Belgian yeast flavor is not subdued as it can be in the darker brews. An all around balanced take on the strong dark ale; one that probably sets the standard for the type.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown color with off white head. Aromas of dried fruits and Belgian yeasts. Flavors of a mild sweet dried fruits with the traditional Belgian yeast that makes this one well worth the money. I’ve only had two of this brewery’s beers, but both have been stellar!

This beer has a pretty strong taste to it but does not have a lingering effect that many other strong beers have. Also, even though it is 9% alcohol, it is quite easy to drink. Very good overall beverage.
