COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Tart fruity aroma. Slightly thin palate. Sweet dark fruit taste with a mild tart/spicy background. Very drinkable. Sweet raw sugar aftertaste.

Floral aroma full of berries, scotch and wood. Initially harsh, then medium bodied with some light fruit and wood flavors, then finally a sweet bite of sugar mixed with spices and plum. Quite nice.

Dark Brown and opaque, with a nice thick head of light tan. The smell is alcoholic, and redolent of dark fruits, bananas, and slightly nutty. The flavor resembles a belgian triple, sweet fruity and strong.

I drank this 12 oz. bottle (BB 05-07-06) out of my snifter. Dark, murky beer with an initial foamy head that settled into an active ring with nice lace. Nose of grape, apple, raisin and alcohol. Very fizzy on the tounge. Lots of dark fruit sweetness, like baked apples in brown sugar with rum raisins on top. Very nice sipping beer. It does feel very light for a 9%.

Good beer. A bit over carbonated for the style in my opinion. Nice dark fruit flavors but not as well balanced as I would have liked. A bit harsh on the palate...not too bad but just not as mellow as I was expecting. I think this beer would benefit greatly with age.

Dark brown topped with coarse bubbles. Aroma is punget fruit, yeast and that familiar belgian spiced malt. Smoother than expected considering the appearance, sweet and fruity with a spicy undertone, finishes with a kick. Not my favorite blend of flavors but I can appreciate the craftsmanship.

Dark brown brew with a creamy dark white head. Tha alcohol was not too prevalent and the taste was sweet and fruity. Usual malt taste from Unibroue. Very nice brew overall.

Deep chestnut brown with dark amber highlights topped by a creamy white head. This is an impressive looking beer, with an equally impressive bottle. The aroma is very complex, with yeast, fruits, and other scents. Reminds me of a ggod red wine. The taste is sweet, fruity and slightly overpowering. I did not find it to be as well balanced as some of the other Unibroue offerings. The mouthfeel is good, but the alcohol is a little too prevalent, creating too much astringency on the finish.
