COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

This was far better than I even expected. One of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. Very memorable. I loved the Belgium style ale with a great reddish tint. It has a wonderful dark brownish red caramel look. It poured with a nice thick bubbly head and it almost resembled champagne in its carbonation. My only problem with this beer was over carbonation. Otherwise it was fantastic. The aroma and taste reminded me of raspberry brandy, with a hidden cherry flavor as well. I felt that the alcohol was dangerously hidden as it was a very easy beer to drink.

First off, the bad: too much head when I poured it into a glass, with out excessive care. Also, the carbonation and alcohol is readily apparent when drinking it. Otherwise, this beer is amazing. Briliant dark color. Smooth finish but very complex right off the bat. Has a very roasty flavor and manages to leave your mouth tasting sweet.

I am really beginning to love Unibroue, makes you want Quebec to stay in Canada. Beautiful beer with a rich head that settles down but stays through the whole beer. Rich flavour and texture. A new experience with every sip. As it warms the alcohol becames very apparant.

A very nice brew, though a little harsh for my tastes. Huge head, and a very nice formation of lace on the glass. The alcohol is readily apparent, which is kind of a problem in my book. The aroma is very fruity, and overall this beer is quite good.

Dark brown, fluffy bubbling head. Flavors were plum, fig, rum, clove, and towards the end big time chocolate. This was complex and I will seek it out again.

Cloudy dark brown with a head that vanishes all too quickly. Initial impressions of wheat, banana, clove, and a little hop. A really great Belgian-style Grand Cru from Canada.

Had some of this at a Unibroue tasting this week, and realized that it had been so long since I’d had it last that I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Beautiful purple-black colour, spicy malt and dark fruit in the nose and flavour, ending with a warm alcohol glow. Lovely stuff, I really should drink it more often.

Wow. Very dark and hoppy. Roasted malts are apparent, and blend nicely with the silky belgian feel. This beer put a hurting on me after only two......not the 750 ml bottles. I got a six pack of 330 ml. I like belgian styles with roasted malts.

Beautiful blackcurrant colour with a nose of malt, yeast, spices and, of course, alcohol. Complex flavour though the alcohol is more evident than in many other of Unibroue’s strong-but-smooth brews.

"Great bouquet" says Bill. Yeasty and fruity nose - rather strong. Dark maroon color and a low tight head with good retention. A big mix of tastes: yeast, spices, berries (black currants) and licorice. Got a slightly napkiny aftertaste though. Medium body and a great balance. Powerful quality beer.
