Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

definately a strong ale. Appearance is out of this world. The magic theme from the label carries over to the beer with the disappearing head trick.

I simply love this beer. Has a great rich, fruity flavor and a wild finish. Alcohol flavor is a litle strong but in no way harsh. Great Beer!

Head lasts in lovely islands in the glass. Very lively mouthfeel. Nice fruit, clove spiciness.

Very well balanced, fruity aromas with a great colour. Complex flavours make this a great ale.

A wonderfully aromatic brew. Too much for this as of yet still learning olfactory and palate to deduce. Color is rich amber and tastes of toasted caramelness with solid alcohol. Truly a fine beer.

This is a strong, dark ale that weighs in with a 9% alcohol-by-volume rating. It is a living beer, undergoing refermentation (secondary fermentation) in the bottle. It pours with a dark brown color and a very thin foam head that disappears very quickly. This ale is brewed with a roasted malt, which explains its dark color and its slightly nutty (hazelnut) aroma. This ale also features dark fruit aromas, plum in particular, and some have likened the smell to a fine glass of Port (fortified wine from Portugal or Spain). In flavor, this ale has a lively mouthfeel and is surprisingly light for such a high-alcohol beer. The texture is smooth and the flavor is fruity and round, turning slightly sweet at mid-palate, and ending with a mild amount of warmth, a slight but of sourness, and a gentle amount of hop bitterness. This is a complex, structured ale featuring many different flavor experiences and a pleasing aftertaste that makes for very easy drinking.

Im only halfway through the glass and Ive already caught so many of the different flavors mentioned here. The only bad thing is that the alcohol seems to linger in the aftertaste a bit much.

Very effervescent, though it doesnt produce a notable head. The biting spritziness gets in the way of the flavor, which is of a caramel-like sweetness, with some vaguely smoky notes. Not too complex--could perhaps use some cellar time to see if some more interesting flavors come out--and get rid of some of that gas!

WOW!! Yeah, I think that should cover it. Very dark, with a fluffy tan head. Very fruity in the aroma. The flavor starts with a touch of plum? Then as the beer warms it gets more and more spicy. Great drink for a night like this. Very cold out.
