Unibroue Trois Pistoles

Pours a clear, dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aroma was very inviting. Mainly rich malts and a nice fruityness. I smelled mostly grapes and other dark fruits. Flavor was really rich and had great mouthfeel. Medium-to-full bodied with nice carbonation.

I would go on record to say this is one of the best belgian’s I’ve ever had. It’s fruity, dark, and hauntingly inviting. it’s also a great brew to have to start the new year. Cheers!

Murky dark reddish brown with a gigantic tan head that persists for a long time. Nose of raisins and nuts. Taste is like sparkling red wine. Like merlot or cabernet with bubbles. Alcohol is well camouflaged, but noticeable. Champagne like carbonation and a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Beer poured dark and beautiful with an aroma of bourbon: an inviting beer to say the least. The flavor was refreshing and left a silky sensation on the tongue, however the carbonation was overpowering and killed the aftertaste, which was a shame. The high level of alcohol didn’t dominant the taste as one would expect, but the fizz definitely held this beer back from being something truly exceptional.

Bottle @ Gulden Duvel, Burgos. Ruby red / brown colour, medium off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits and slightly toasted malts. Flavour of dark dried fruits, yeast, brown sugar and a hint of chocolate. Alcohol well hidden. Nice sweet-sour aftertaste. Excellent beer.

Gouts de raisins, de prunes, de sucre brun et de melasse. Dominer par la levure Unibroue... Grapes, plums, brown sugar and molasse taste. Over-powered by the yeast again...

Bottle (in NZ). Pours dark brown with a large pillowy head. Fruit, spice and chocolate on the nose. A surprising lack of alcohol on the palate. Smooth mouthfeel. Raisins and chocolate flavours. At 9%, its dangerously easy to drink.

Shared this one with Oldrtybastrd. This poured dark brown with a medium head off white. This had spices and malt but not much on the alcohol side. This was easy to drink as it had a nice bitter finish.
