Poured into a Corsendonk Christmas Ale glass a very nice cloudy reddish brown color, nice carbonation, a very quick fizzy tannish head, not much sticky lacing on this one. The nose is very nice though, malty, lots of figs, plums, raisins, with some yeast and spices. The taste is malty, with some nice yeast notes, the dark fruits kick-in very nicely, with some spicyness. Medium body. Very drinkable, this brew has got to be close to maybe 8 years old, not sure when Unibroue produced this one, but it is already close to 5 years beyond the expiration date. Still very tasty. I have a few more bottles left, YEAH

Great dark fruity aroma. Body is not as rich as I wold have though, and with a fair amount of fizz. Taste is malty, plummy and berries, slight chocolate cake. Belgian yeast is evident. Dry finish. Terrific. swoopjones (1878), Buffalo, New York, USA

Mainly rich malts and a nice fruityness. I smelled mostly grapes and other dark fruits. Flavor was really rich and had great mouthfeel. Medium-to-full bodied with nice carbonation.
