Black coffee color with a thin, lingering head. Highly carbonated mouthfeel. Malty flavor with wine-like fruits keeps me coming back for more. mikalooch (163), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Pours a dark red with a head that is thin but lasts. Definite sweet aroma, grapes and ripe fruit, almost reminds me of a wine. Sweet and fruity with a yeasty finish. No real aftertase, flavor vanishes kind of quickly. A very good overall beer, very drinkable and enjoyable. AndyReynolds (281), Wilder, Kentucky, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Poured a dark reddish-brown with a thick light brown head. Sweet aroma with hints of apple and grape. Also, smells malty with a bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet and fruity with a wheat and yeast taste to it. It finishes almost with the same flavor as the Du Fin Du Monde. This is a good beer, but over carbonated and not a favorite. timsilvia32 (446), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Brown/amber pour, large lasting whitish head. Sweet aromas, some malt, yeast. Suprising amount of red fruit with caramel/toffee. Has a stick to it, but rather medium bodied. Quite a bit of carbonation, but it does not get in the way. Does improve as it warms. Not quite sure what to make of the Unibroue brews, it’s like they’re all the same beer with different flavorings added. Good but not great. Strykzone (1466), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Beer # 900 for me. A huge tan head jumps from the glass during the pour. Dark brown beer with lots of red, it is almost the same color as the bottle. Aroma is full of sweet malt, fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is full of sweet dark fruit, sugar, yeast, wheat, and caramel. Very much a "Belgian feel" to this one. An enjoyable and interesting beer but not quite as good as expected. SHANER4 (371), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is quite blahhhh, nothing really. Taste is ok, nothing that great, dry and grainy. Overall a decent beer but not at the level as I expected. Todeon (315), Sweden

Aroma of rasins, dark fruits, brown sugar and yeasts. Flavor is malt, rasins, dark fruits, belgian yeasts, brown sugar. HIdes the 9% rather well, good belgian style strong ale.
