Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

This delicious beer has an aroma of cherries, figs, plums, and deep fruit. The flavor delivers all that plus a ton of carbonation. It is very smooth and filling, I barely notice the alcohol presence. Nice beer, but between the intense flavor and the carbonation it is not a light and easy-drinking beer, but a filling and deeply flavorful beer.

2008-Apr-25 from a 750 ml bottle (Served too cold). Dried fruit, figs, and brown sugar aroma. Dark brown with a light t brown head. Big plum flavor at first and then a hot finish. Think palate.

bottle poured into a tulip glass has a very dark brown color with almost no transparency and a huge three finger tan head that took forever to fall and never disappeared completely. aroma has spice, licorice, banana, raisin, figs, malt, and very little alcohol for a 9%. high carbonation pushes the roasted malt, charred oak, fermented dark fruit, spice, and light bitters. does have some port wine characters, champagne like carbonation, and completely hidden alcohol.

Dark brown, w/ large off-white head. Very fruity aroma, spices. Taste is sweeter than others of the category, with tangy fruit notes present, smooth malt character, and almost no hop presence. Fairly thin. I liked it, but it wasn’t my fav from this brewery.

Vinous cola nose, some spice and caramel notes. Dark brown to black color, bubbly head with quick dissipation. Spicy clovey burnt caramel sweetness, mild bitterness, more tartness, alcohol hits aggressively. Fizzy, surprisingly thinner easy mouth feel, finish is long with the alcohol burning through in a big way. Huge beer, has some really interesting spicy complexity, very different, would go fantastic with a steak.
