I have only had Maudiet and La Fin so far this is the best Unibroue product I have had, but in my opinion There products are more about the hype of the beer rather than the actual quality of the beer. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 pours a dark burnt caramel color with a nice two finger fluffy light brown head. aroma is yeast and some hops with dark fruits, a little bread, and a little citrus. has a medium body with descent lacing and good carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. it has a port wine finish and aftertaste and all together not bad i guess. i would take a couple of the other unibroue beers over this one though. esjaygee (1519), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Muddy brown with thick creamy beige head. Aroma of spice, clove and Belgian yeast. Medium bodied taste of fruit, caramel, and spice. A little tartness in the finish and it hides the alcohol well. SamGamgee (1429), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2008 75cl bottle. Dark brown with hints of purple, and a really white head considering the dark color of the beer. The biggest impression that I get from the aroma is licorice, then some sugarcane and pineapple, with a yeasty character over it all. Nothing as dark as I expected. The flavor is likewise pretty light tasting, though rich and sweet, with the same licorice flavor and light yeastiness. Closing my eyes, I can almost imagine a lighter, tripel style ale. The body is pretty full and smooth, but missing the silkier texture that I like in a BSA. A nice drinkable ale, but unremarkable for me. blipp (1638), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours very dark and cloudy brown with a beige head that never really goes away. Aroma is sweet ripe fruit, almost like a nice red wine, with notes of cherry, berry, prune and apricot. Full and velvety body. Flavors are subtle and never overpowering. Berry, plum, peach, yeast, raisin, and probably much more my unworthy palate can’t find. Very nice, very well balanced, easy to drink. ansermadide (507), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Updated: Jun 9, 2008(750ml bottle on April 13, 2008) An awesome beer! Gift from Sarah for my 32nd birthday. (Thanks!) Light body for such a dark beer (and a Belgian strong ale at that), but superbly tasty with a kicking flavor. The alcohol didn’t hit me hardly at all - and I’ll attribue that to the great flavor and my habit of drinking high ABV brews. Looking forward to my next bottle! spud1987 (46), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

Aroma of cloves, bread, yeast. Great appearance, dark and cloudy. Flavor is strong and complex. Overall a great beer. Enjoyit (1708), Vadum, Denmark
