Davinci (295), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 11, 2008 pours a dark reddish brown with foamy head. Smells of bubblegum and rootbeer. Mellow sweetness balanced by a some spicey hops and alcohol tingle. A well rounded beer with some really wonderful characteristics. jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 10, 2008 #100! I discovered Unibroue through RateBeer, so decided to celebrate #100 with this delicious ale. Red black pour, slight head. Aroma of a Belgian Quad- raisin, vanilla, brown sugar, dark fruit- dried cherry. Some biting carbonation at first, but it mellows as it warms in my goblet. The taste is of sweet malt, alcohol, more raisin and fig. Some dark rye at the finish. Warm and mellow, substantial and delicious. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Feb 6, 2008 Cola colored with a light tan head. Spicy sweet, yeasty aroma. Med. body with a prickly mouthfeel. Great taste same as the aroma is spicy, yeasty, vinous, and sweet with ginger bread, cloves, and dark caramels. Has a tangy spice/alcohol taste to finish. Good stuff. 81105 Mufasa7270 (7), Covington, Georgia, USA does not count Feb 5, 2008 This is by far the best beer I have tasted so far! I could drink this all day. tig397 (64), dearborn heights, Michigan, USA Feb 3, 2008 12oz bottle. Smells of spice and nut. Very dark brown with full body. Larger sized head with smooth carbonation. Strong malt taste with semi-bitter aftertaste. ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile Feb 2, 2008 The aroma has notes of malty fruitiness and raisins, but also some acidic tangy lemon & orange. Mouthfeel is smooth and thick, but finish is drier than you’d think. Taste shows acidity and small amounts of sweaty yeast. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours black with a white head. Has a sweet fruity aroma with a flavor to match. Extremely good overall. timfoolery (482), California, USA Feb 1, 2008 Tasted this one after the triple fermented. For a Belgian Strong, it holds up with rich European fruit flavors, but lacked a depth of taste. Still, it’s one of the better of it’s kind, and I’d drink it again in a heartbeat.
