4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Froot loops notes and classic Unibroue yeast aroma. Dark effervecance and a nice cloudy foam top. Can?t get over that Froot loops aroma !? What?s behind that artificial fruit nose ? Soft in mouth presence, touch of herbes de provence. I?m going crazy, froot loops style cassoulet ? No hop needed, no hop showing. Distant alcool, so much fun to drink an easy beer like that. Easy yet complexe. Easy, in a possitive way. Easy like enjoying life with all its Grands Crus. Its not perfect, but the fact that I got this bottle at a gas station for 6$ makes it pretty close the perfection.

Bottle into a tulip. Pours an inky black, with a small tan head that fades into a disk on the surface. Nose is dark fruit and dark roast malt. Taste is dark fruit with a hint of Belgian yeast banana and clove. Delicious. An outstanding brew from one of North Americaís best breweries.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark brown color, topped with a fairly decent and lasting beige head. Nice aroma of malt, some caramel with dried fruits, though some alcohol can be noted. Sweet start, a feel of caramel and mild bitterness. Alcohol presence can be picked up, though not too excessive. A decent one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
As a side bar, I canít believe I have never rated this beer before. Itís been an old standby for a long time.
It pours deep hazy violet with ruby highlights; the head is off-white and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: dark bread, rum-soaked raisins, fruitcake, and dark fruits. The taste is medium sweet that finishes lightly bitter; there are notes of: dark fruits, dark bread, prunes, and rice rice pudding. The palate is medium-heavy bodied, has light carbonation, and a long finish. Overall, a very consistent and well crafted beer - almost makes me patriotic

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL bottle, poured into a snifter. The aroma is initially roasted grains and spice with a pungent prune, some tobacco, and some funk. It pours a murky prune color with a light, fuzzy tan head thatís wispy with only light retention and no lace. The taste is a medium high bitter and medium sweet. The texture is a moderate thick and oily one with only a light fuzz for carbonation, and a medium full body thatís flavored with bread, spice, tobacco, and plums. It finishes spicy with a zip and has warm flavors of prunes and spice and leaves an aftertaste thatís bready and lingering with a light spice, alcohol, and fig.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a very dark brown hue with a very thick and frothy head and light carbonation. Has a fruity aroma and a stout and strong but great taste, leave a bit of a dry aftertaste. Itís a good beer, a bit expensive but very delicious. I recommend this beer to anyone. Iím not a fan on stout and thick beers but this is a good one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Stout, Toronto. Pours hazy dark ruby with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, sugar and fruit. Booze in the long nose. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with fruity and estery touches and mild notes of hops. Rough, estery aftertaste with mild acidic hints. Potent and heavy but well-balanced and enjoyable
