4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep red/burgundy with very little head. Lots of cherry and plum flavor yet very mellow alcohol taste for a big beer. Drinks like a port wine. Great with a dark cigar.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich dark fruit aroma. Deep mahogany red body with a off-white head, The head is exuberant at first and settles to thin covering after a short time. Heavy dark fruitiness and spice. Feels rich even with the lively carbonation. Warms the palate on the way down. Has a crisp finish that is on the dry side at the end.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Dark reddish brown with an off white head. Dark fruit, cocoa, and spice aroma is followed by a fruity taste (stone fruit - apricot and plum - and raisins) and spices. Fairly balance with a slightly bitter finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very good Belgian styled beer. Heavy in alcohol without that aggressive burn. Dark yet some spice and fruit flavours, not just all malt. Very nice!

Malty with a little sweetness. Not highly carbonates but still fizzy. Just OK, nothing I think I’ll buy again..

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours murky, muddy brown. Raisins, and plum dominate the aromas. Palate is thick and slightly sticky. Tastes are the aforementioned raisins and plums, but some up front mint is on the tongue too. Maybe a bit of sweet molasses on the swallow.
A good solid craft brew, but the hyperbole swirling around this one, exceeded the actual experience of drinking it.
