COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

One of my new favorites. Its been a while since I had a good beer like this. Very roasted aroma and initial tatse, aftertaste of malt and sugar. Absolutely wonderful brew, no complaints here. Very similar to some of the Fuller's Vintage Ales in my opinion, but with a more bitter and roasted flavor. I love it.

Pours a dark brown with a lasting, bubbly head. Strong, complex flavours fill the mouth. Slight carbonation dances around the lips and tongue. A strong taste but a great beer!

Wine-like aroma. Smells a little citrusy also. I’m afraid I’m just rating this from the bottle but going from the smell, I’m gonna bet that the color is a darker golden and slightly cloudy look. Smells like it anyway. Wow. tastes. tangier than I thought it would. Little bit of cough syrupy aftertaste. Though still tingling. Very bright but also kinda sour.

Deep dark reddish brown with a light khaki head. Aroma is earthy with sweet prunes and a little raisin. A faint hint of citrus rind as well. Taste is is very sweet and malty with dark fruit standing out. A hint of cinnamon gives a little bite to the otherwise creamy texture. If you are a sweet and creamy fan, you have to try this one. It is a little over the top for me in the sweetness.

750 ml bottle, corked and caged, from Wilbur’s. Deep, dark reddish-brown with a nice, light tan head that dissipates to almost nothing and no lacing. The aroma is fairly sweet with dark fruits, earthy yeast and light caramel malts. Similar flavor with red wine, grassy herbs and toasty malts. Medium body with a chewy feel, crisp carbonation and a dry finish. A complex and tasty sipper, eh?

Poured from 341mL bottle. Dark, slightly reddish brown with beige head. Aromas of dark dried fruit, sweet malt and yeast. Full creamy texture of light raisins, plums, and prunes. Slightly dry on the finish.

Another great Belgium style beer from Unibroue. It is for sure one of, if not the best brewery in Canada, and anyone who loves Belgium style beers would agree!

February 2011. Bottle. Dark fruit and spice aromas. Poured dark brown with a beige head. Tangy fruity flavors with sugars, spice, dark malt and yeast notes. Great beer.
