COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a bubbly head that dissipates faster than any brew I have ever seen. Almost looks like I am pouring a cola. Aroma of roasted malt, dried fruits, yeast, banana, and caramel. Flavor is similar with the addition of a bit of sweetness, chocolate, and a slight tartness. Mouthfeel is not my style, since it is very fizzy and slick. Maybe I need to try the 750 to truly understand this one.

12oz bottle code C081209500F(?smudge)L @ 50° into Belgian goblet; very deep brown to black body flashing cranberry highlights when illuminated supports a quickly fading 1" light khaki head; a flash of cherry leads into big fig and date, passion fruit and melon, chocolate, and light coffee, subdued slightly tart yeast influence, somewhat vinous, faint clove and light spice, some white fruit building as this warms; medium, highly carbonated body revealing a slightly drying fruity, chocolatey finish

On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Pours a dark brown color with a lot of head. Lots of malt and belgian yeast flavors.

Dark and stormy. Aroma is a yeasty tang. Mouthfeel is a strong fizzy carbonation. Taste is a lingering tang. Palate is dry stickiness. Overall, a decent strong ale, but not malty enough for me. Wish it was bigger flavoured.

Bottle from the six type variety mini case purchased at Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Very nice and quite unique. Loved every sip.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2013 341mL bottle. Pours a dark brown hazy colour, frothy cream colour small bubble head. Little lacing, small carbonation. Aromas of dark fruit - prunes and cherries, caramel malt molasses Lively dried fruit mouthfeel, really long and lingering. Hints of coriander and marjoram. Most enjoyable with fruit, nuts and cheese, an after dinner treat. Fabulous!

Draft at pizza plant. Brownish red pour with a creamy off white head. Smells like fruit, apples, dark fruit. Tastes caramel, spices, cinnamon, yeast, brown sugar. A little funk in the middle.

Smells dark and like wine almost, with fruity hints. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin white head. Tastes like POG! Passion fruit, oranges and guava. Very fruity, leaves a fizzy feeling long after you swallow.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2013 Pours a dark brown with a lasting, bubbly head. Strong, complex flavours fill the mouth. Slight carbonation dances around the lips and tongue. A strong taste but a great beer!

Wine-like aroma. Smells a little citrusy also. I’m afraid I’m just rating this from the bottle but going from the smell, I’m gonna bet that the color is a darker golden and slightly cloudy look. Smells like it anyway. Wow. tastes. tangier than I thought it would. Little bit of cough syrupy aftertaste. Though still tingling. Very bright but also kinda sour.

Deep dark reddish brown with a light khaki head. Aroma is earthy with sweet prunes and a little raisin. A faint hint of citrus rind as well. Taste is is very sweet and malty with dark fruit standing out. A hint of cinnamon gives a little bite to the otherwise creamy texture. If you are a sweet and creamy fan, you have to try this one. It is a little over the top for me in the sweetness.
