So finally in Montreal I lay my hands on the pilsner from famous Unibroue. It was not clear to my why this beer was sold in clear bottles but soon I was to find out. Last night I had Sleeman Steam also sold in clear glass bottle? To my surprise (?) they both shared same skunky aroma that so many people love in Mr. H. Mr H. and milions buyers can not be wrong. The gold U labeled in the glass matched the gold brew. I must say in the summer this must be something. Small head but did not run away like some do. Taste of U was a level above of anything else U represented in other fields. Creamy, with medium body, not to thin as many pilsners tend to be. Got body and texture and that’s always good. What is missing is the hop bite that true pils got.

Not that bad. Plae golden colour, nice fluffy white head. Aroma is a little skunky. This a decent refreashing pilsener.

A very refreshing pilsner; better than your regular commercial brands. Nice foamy white head and mellow flavour.

A commercial attempt, sure, it is not the best Unibroue beer but we can’t blame em, its just to make commercial beer drinker come to the compagnie and if thjey love this they may try some of their other beer. Still a resfreshing beer.

decent lager, I guess. bit of a disappointment from unibroue. I don’t know what’s with the clear skunkifying bottle, and why the hell is it filtered?! this is unibroue for crying out loud!

I was told by the guy drinking this one in the bar that, ’it’s a good one.’ Obviously he hasn’t tried the other brews from Unibroue, because this one was very below their standard of excellance! Awful skunky too.

Another beer from Unibroue which helps the big ones…If it sells, we will see more awesome newcomers like La Terrible and La Fringante…If not, we will see other lackluster pilsners with a different catchy bottle to grasp the don’t-know-betters…

Pale golden. Sourish nose. Clean. Light bodied with some maltiness. Low bitterness.

Not a terrible pilsener, but pretty bland. A disappointment coming from Unibroue. A cynical attempt at mass-market accessibility, perhaps? I’ll stick to their Belgian-style brews.

Color- straw. Head- lacy and slight rockiness, good retention. Aroma- mothballs???? Very smooth, no hops aroma, Unibroue should expel energy elsewhere.
