May 30, 2008 Not sure if I’m rating the right beer here. The label says Rousse Ale and this beer is classified as and American Dark Lager. Anyway I’ll assume it’s just classified wrong. Deep red translucent body with not much head from the pour. What llittle head there was left good lacing. Aroma is corn, mild malts and weak. First taste is a burnt maltiness which I couldn’t taste after the first sip. Nothing much going on here. Although I wasn’t expecting much after trying the Unibroue U pilsner. ABUSEDGOAT (1882), California, USA Jan 1, 2008 Clear reddish... well just look at the damn bottle. Aroma is caramel with light hops and more grainy malts. Light body with high carbonation. Why bother? VeloVampire (381), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 4, 2007 341 ml bottle - pours a clear copper with a good sized off-white head. Faint, sweet aroma, not much to speak of, some decent malts. Very smooth in the mouth, with subtle hop flavouring and more sweetness. Definitely a step up from Molson or Labatt, but only a slight step. Well-crafted, but certainly geared toward the mainstream drinker. Gateway beer.
