This generously hopped pale ale is a strike in your mouth! Brewed with lots of Pacific Northwest & New Zealand hops this beer is ten frames of big citrus and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. A strong malt backbone rounds it out and makes this pale ale a delight for the senses. The pins may be small but the flavor is huge! In our town, we roll Duckpin—a true Baltimore original.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus, light tropical fruits, and caramel malt. Taste of citrus, pine, and caramel malt.

Let down! No body, no complexity. A let down. I regretted getting a 22 oz. instead of a smaller taste. Never again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz can at Max’s Hop Fest 2013. Pours a clear orange with some frothy, white head. Nose is earthy, lemon, pithy, vinous, some white grape. Flavor is nice, herbal, chive, scallion, malt, orange, honey, spicy onion. Full, herbal finish. Very nice. I would love to get sixers of this in DC.

On tap at the brewery tasting room. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Crisp grain and bright hops. Medium bodied, light sweetness and a good amount I’d crisp malt. Nice clean bitterness into the finish. Long lingering bitter. Tasty and easy drinking.

12oz can: pours a clear deep golden with a clingy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted pale malty nose with fresh resiny citrus hops. Starts with good fullness and a clean malty sweetness well balanced with juicy hop flavor and resiny bitterness before a crisp bittersweet finish. Very well hopped and quite drinkable.

It’s nice to drink local beer and even better when it’s good. Poor is amber with a large head and a good amount of hop and citrus flavors and aromas. Easy drinker at 5.3 % but still a ton of hops great beer.

Look: Nice rich gold body lively carbonation, white head. Smell: Like a generously hopped pale ale. Citrus zest, faint tropical fruits, floral. Taste: Oranges, passion fruit, some grass, spicy herbal tea, in the background, bready malt, very mild bitterness plays on the palate. Feel: Light body, active carbonation. Overall: This pale ale is a to the point brew. It is not aggressively hoppy but it doesn’t lack hop flavor or aroma. Pretty well balanced but a bit monotone. Thirst quenching is what really sets this beer off. This brew is worthy.

Nice deep yellow color. The hops are not overpowering, and probably just about right. There’s a slight bitterness to it for a pale ale, but still quite crisp and refreshing. The bitterness sticks around a bit on the back of your palate.

Serving: 12 oz. can from State Line Liquors. It pours a slightly hazy amber with a very small white head. Nice herbal nose with touches of pine. Solid bitterness from start to finish on the tongue. There is a little crackery malt, but it’s mostly those herbal and pine notes. Light to medium body with a lengthy bitter finish. Clearly west coast inspired. Not terribly complex, but not to bad.

A little bitter but overall a good pale ale. It would be a strike with steamed crabs hon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
