Snow Pants Oatmeal Stout is a jet black, full-bodied ale with an ABV of 8%. Brewers describe the beer as having a “gentle, creamy body,” thanks to real oats. The sweetness is balanced by both Cascade and Columbus hops.

On tap at The Ale House Columbia. Dark brown with amber tint and tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, and hops aromas. Roasted malt and dark chocolate flavors and hop in the finish.

On tap at Union. Served in a Union sampler glass. Pours a very dark brown. Nose is really nice with roast and chocolate alongside a faint hoppiness. Rich body with heavy chocolate and a bit of roast. Nice backing oats. A bit too roasty through the finish for me, but otherwise quite nice.

On cask 4 oz. pour at Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights, Washington, DC. Opaque near black with small khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma begins with a huge whiff of chocolate complemented by rich roasted malt, vanilla and oak. Taste of rich roasted malt, rich milk chocolate, vanilla and caramel. A chocolate dessert you drink!
