Jet black in colour. Has a caramel aroma which leads into the flavour and joins the sweet, rich flavour. This continues into the mellow finish where some dryness, maybe from roast malt, gives a bit of balance. The best beer Union brew? (Bottle at a bar, Hodos)

Probably the best Slovenian beer I've yet tried. Heavy, slightly fruity mouth-feel, red-black colour and light carbonation. Delicious session beer, available on tap in a great pizzeria in Ljubljana. I've tried about ten of the beers here and this is the only one I'll be taking home so far.

CEZ (393) - Milano, ITALY - FEB 20, 2004
Brown body, average beige head. Caramel and malt aroma; a hint of hops. Malty taste with a distinct acidic finish. A bit flat and not too complex, but otherwise not a particularly bad beer.

Not bad. It's a good standard on-tap dark been in Slovenia. Not watery, just hearty and refreshing. Call me a booster, but it's good.

Eeenh, it's OK. I think the standard Union is the bigger winner here. Union Temno (dark) is also better than this, when you can find it on tap.

Aldrighetti (163) - Coltura, ITALY - SEP 18, 2003
Bottled. Average creamy head, light brown, small bubbles, disappears slowly, glass-sticking. Clear dark brown color. Low intense nose, light malt aroma, toasted and caramel. Hoppy aroma is light. Fruity aroma, (blackcurrant, grape), chocolate cookies. Initial sweet flavor, light bitter, finish moderate bitter, light acidic, harsh astringent. Afterstaste of grape skin, burnt roasted malt. Dry, light body, lively carbonation.

Dark, brown. Big amber head. Lacing. Not much in the aroma, but a little bit of burnt caramel. This caramel goes in the flavor too. Feels pretty thin.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2004 Red Black in colour with thin beige head. I've got to say, this is very good, fruity, blackcurrant soft forest flavours. Nice and flat, easy drinking, its a little classic awaiting a bigger audience. The best thing is the body, its full and juicy. Great beer.

Dark with a small creamy head. Very clear fresh fruit aroma. I am not really sure about what kind of fruit it is. Rather flat, fruity taste with a more dry than bitter finish.
