0.1 in the brewpub: Very pale yellow color, white creamy head. Nose is grainy, grassy, light musty. Flavor is quite typical für a Helles, grainy with grassy hops. Solid, drinkable.

Shared bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden color with a white head. Aroma and taste of light malts and grass with hints of fruit. Not terribly exciting, but decent.

33cl bottle. Hazy golden with nice white head. Grain and yeast in the light aroma. Average carbonation and light body. Taste is light with malty notes. Overall, drinkable.

Pours hazy gold from the bottle. The head soon fades but a thin whispy film lingers. Aroma is musty, herbal, grassy. Taste is earthy, lightly sweet, but also a bit blank. Not much going on here. Okay in a pinch.

Rather big white head on a birght yellow hazy sparkling fluid. Aroma is almost nothing. A bit mustyness and light fruity hops. Taste is better, a slim hoppy bitterness and some hints of fruity (peach?) sweetness. Has quite a large amount of carbonation but without being aggressive and filling your mouth, without being heavy. Refreshing I would say. Long finish with the same taste as before. Overall good and nice to drink, but the aroma was a big disappointment.

Sampled @ Giesinger Bräustüberl, Starkibierzeit 2016. Büdős helles. Amúgy nem rossz, malátás szűretlen

May ’15. On tap at the brewpub. It poured hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Weak aroma, a bit boring homebrew yeast and grain. Flavor lightly bitter, chalky, bread/grain malt. Rather fine. Medium to thin bodied with long finish. Okay, a tad too yeasty, but decent.

Draught at source and 50cl bottle bb06/2016. - Bref: atypical Münchner Helles, typically sweetish brewpub Helles aka unfiltered Keller with a modern, faint hop touch. Specifically bottled a sweet an earthy yeast nose of wet pasture and yellow kiwi. Tastes a tad too sweet and yeast-lieblich for my Helles sessioning needs, while offering new and more contemporary hop modes of Lieblichkeit in flavour: powder sugar, yellow kiwi, vanilla, corn. Textured notes of grain and cereal in the finish. Makes its modern mark in the scene well enough.

Pours a vibrant, hazy, pale golden color, with a huge, pillowy head, which won’t collapse at all. Smells of peas, wet leaves, grass and a note of whole grain bread. Offers a pleasant yeast sourness, gently soothed by a toffee malt quality. Drinks incredibly smooth with a vivid, refreshing finish, while the beer remains its refreshing character. Tastes of straw covered garden herbs, together with a salty hint, gently blending into earthy, slightly toffeeish malts. Develops an awesome dryness, with its herbs providing an unforseen depth, perfectly complimented by more potent turning toffee malts. The flavors remains in an earthy, herbal array, allowing malts and the bubbly carbonation to cut through, developing an enjoyable depth. Finish simple but effective with a far going herb dryness, caressed by earth coated malts. Perfectly composed Kellerbier, featuring a neat hop punch, finding its balance flawlessly in the diversified malt bill. Very crushable with an utmost enjoyable flavor profile to it.
